In 1970, Jean-Luc Godard (along with Jean-Pierre Gorin as the Dziga Vertov Group) was commissioned by the Palestine Liberation Organization to shoot a documentary regarding its ongoing armed struggle. The film Until Victory / Palestine Will Win was never finished because many of the film's subjects and members of the PLO were killed shortly after the initial footage was taken. Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville later used the existing material of Until Victory in his 1974 film Ici et Ailleurs / Here and Elsewhere.
