AT WORK ON THE GREAT PICTURE.
April 20th, 1912.
At work on the great picture is an admirable skit. Dr. Sun is seen with palette and brush busily engaged in his great work "Celestial Utopia"--for the central figure of which a lay figure marked "Socialism" has been called into use. The canvas hints at delightfully idyllic scenes, and the student of Revolutionary history in the days to come could not possibly have a more charming or wittier comment on one of its passing phases than is given in this cartoon.

US Immigration agency investigative case files related to the Chinese Exclusion Acts (1882-1943) frequently contain photographs used to identify the persons covered in the files. This government-originated photograph is from the only currently known immigration case file for Dr. Sun Yat Sen, first President of the Republic of China, known as "the Father of modern China".
