This ask made my week thank you rgrghrghgrh…. Ben Tom Harry Brainrot. The duality of man…

So Ben’s pendant is actually a gift from Tom to help with his breathing issues! Because of Ben’s shoddily added gills, he actually takes in oxygen from both his nose/mouth AND his gills when he’s on land, so he’s used to having to be very careful about taking shallow breaths, not gasping too much, or else he takes in too much air, has trouble with hiccups, etc… Tom makes this magic pendant (from botania I believe!), which is supposed to give the player water breathing, but because Ben already has gills/can breathe underwater, the pendant accidentally reconfigures Ben’s airways so that the gills only work under water— the pendant, not detecting water, disables Ben’s gills from working, allowing him to breathe normally on land!!

Harry’s pendant is a reference to cc!harry’s mad hardcore/speedrunning skills/world records! My headcanon for c!harry is that he actually has no clones and has been hiding from yoglabs— therefore, he has no backups when he dies, meaning he’s been playing in hardcore this whole time when everyone else can respawn. … … … also mr mime

This became something of a yearly tradition, but I never got to finish last year’s! So we’re back with the ships I’ve stuck with this year :’) Cheers to a hopefully better one!

The way Tom ended up on minecraftia is actually kinda goofy?? I like to think that the galaxy is huge and that it should be extremely rare for 3 different lumians to have somehow ended up on the same little planet by mere happen-chance, so I don’t think Tom randomly crashed here. Xeph disappeared from home planet several years ago, but I like to imagine instead that Tom was dispatched with a small team, acting as their commander (hence the yellow uniform) as they set out to find their missing militarymun. He was their captain, yea, but kind of a garbage one!! very on brand— he sent every member from their ship off in a pod so they could split up and search faster(assuming they have some sort of tech to locate other members of their species), and then realized a week later that he didn’t actually send them off with any means of communicating back to the main ship? So it was just him, and it’s a bloody miracle that his tech happened to locate lumian life on this planet called minecraftia, except he’s not great at flying the ship either so he ended up half-crashed.

Which is not a big deal! Because Xeph was a prodigy, he was stupid smart and one of their best guys, he’ll know how to fix the ship and get us back home, right! Xeph: haha jokes on you I actually don’t have any memories from before from my crash sorry m8

So Tom’s located xeph, mission accomplished, but he’s basically stranded on this planet now. And he doesn’t know anything about minecraftia, definitely doesn’t really want to be here, but Xeph more or less shows him the ropes, adopts him into the leading yoglabs workforce, and they become pretty good friends! Amicable at worse. Tom actually builds a good portion of yoglabs and is really well acquainted with both Xeph and Honeydew at the start!

It’s only as time goes on and xeph becomes more wrapped up in Yoglabs power that Tom gets more and more brushed to the side— Xeph had opped him, trusting that, as Tom doesn’t know anything about this planet and has plenty to do working for Yoglabs, he should have no reason to leave or discover how much power xeph actually gave him.

As far as Honeydew goes, he and Tom were actually really close! It’s weird, bc Tom ended up closer to Dew, especially the more that Xeph got wrapped up in yoglabs secrets and experimentation. The only real turning point here is after the clone incident, Honeydew was never... quite the same? They grew apart after that point, so Tom was kind of slowly alienated from them.

Ben, on the other hand, wasn’t really allowed to see or visit anyone other than the scientists leading his project? Honeydew certainly wasn’t typically allowed back into the chambers where they kept test subjects. The only reason Tom knew of him was due to routine check-ins.

In the end, after all’s been said and done and Tom and Ben have escaped, dew’s more happy than he is sad to lose a friend. He doesn’t entirely understand what it was all about, but they seem happier, sooo so be it! Hopefully that answers all of ur questions! :) y’all are welcome to send in more (pls send in more) if you’re curious!

Tom and Ben MC lore :0

So... interestingly enough, most of my Ben and Tom mc Lore comes from their early 2015-2016 twitch clips, from when they’d come on stream once a year before they were really known at all? They’d crack jokes about being let out of the basement since Lewis is gone (Here, at 3:25 and 4:53 and I’m sure there’s more but yeah) and whatnot. Also that one official art Nina did of Tom as a star trek commander... I definitely took that and ran with it (Lumian Tom canon change my mind)

Also there’s a lot so I’ll probably explain stuff over a few different posts under the same tag but!

Long story short, Angor was taken in as Xeph’s behind the scenes personal assistant at Yoglabs and opped so that he could take care of more tedious and menial tasks that Xeph was too busy to do (I like to think that Tom actually built a good bit of yoglabs)! But with the little free time he had, I imagine Tom slowly started venturing out until he met Ridge, who showed him all of the stuff he could do with his powers that Xeph was probably trying to keep from him. So as Tom learned more and more, he eventually prepared enough stuff to break Ben out of yoglabs (after a year or so of trying to make his life a little easier at Yoglabs with blankets and literally any food that’s not fish xp)

Once they break out, they stay pretty low on the radar for obvious reasons, but the occasional prank on Xeph is too tempting to resist (i think it’s hilarious Lewis made them stop calling their stream the Jerk Off stream but they kept secretly doing it anyway to spite him. Cheers for Ben and Tom making a podcast and trying to broadcast it to literally everyone on the server through Yoglabs as a prank)
