I know you don't like Takeda but do you think he has any good qualities at all? Lol
I’ve explained once before that, with a few exceptions, I don’t believe there’s really such a thing as good or bad traits. Unfortunately, Takeda seems to have adopted quite a few of those exceptions in a decidedly not-good way, so it’s even harder to pick out positive qualities than it was for Kazama. But here goes…
- Takeda is very intelligent. Unfortunately, he has exponentially more book smarts than street smarts and either isn’t able to read rooms well or doesn’t care.
- Takeda thinks and acts quickly. Seriously, turn your back on this dude for five seconds and he’s already figured out fifteen ways to fillet you from behind. (He was the head strategist before Itou for a reason.) The issue, beyond the obvious, is that his quick thinking and acting don’t always pertain to the same things. He can get pretty impulsive.
- Takeda believes in himself and his worthiness. Ignoring the fact that he’s completely fucking wrongheaded in the morals department, this is actually a highly valuable trait to have. If he’s told something he wants is impossible, that doesn’t stop him from trying anyway if he wants it bad enough.
That’s… really all I got, but I do have a theory as to why it’s so hard for me to think of anything that qualifies as a “good” trait. I’d explain under a cut, but I don’t think Tumblr lets us do that in asks anymore for some reason, so you may have to bear with me here; I’m not sure if it’ll show.

Do you know Takeda's astrology information?
“Know” implies drawing from canon, but the most we know for sure is the year (and even then, I think Hakuōki gives him a later birth year than is attributed to him historically). That said, I did generate a chart for him within that framework, based on my headcanons. I have him as an immature Cancer-cusp Leo with Scorpio moon and Cancer rising:

I looked back at my ancient headcanons post and it’s hopelessly out-of-date, so I decided to fix that!! Now that I have a better grasp of things, here’s my idea of all the folks who aren’t totally straight. Keep in mind, once again, that canon and culture have shaped my perspective, and also that you needn’t share my idea of the characters’ orientations. (But as a sidenote, we don’t know that much about most Shinkai-exclusive folks’ lifestyles yet, so I can’t analyze too many of them here.)

Takeda: i know absolutely nothing about anything and i refuse to learn about anything but at the end of the day my opinion matters more than most
Miki: when you get your revenge on someone always immediately hit them with a second revenge, undercuts any counter-revenge or betrayal they have
Nakaoka: instead of spending all your time trying to make things better and failing you can cut out the middleman and just make things worse
Motoyama: i did what was expected of me, which was nothing
Nomura: as someone who has a long history of not understanding anything, i feel confident in my ability to continue not knowing what is going on

Hi hi! Can you tell me when Takeda joined the Shinsengumi according to the Kyoto Winds game? Was he there from the beginning or did he join later?
Hey! Historically speaking, Takeda joined the Shinsengumi in October of 1863, which means he was technically with the group from the beginning. However, according to KW, he stayed in a different house than the rest of the Shinsengumi, so Chizuru’s first encounter with him isn’t until March 1864.
Sen: So here we are, cleaning up another human mess.
Kimigiku: What would they do without our stabilizing influence, my lady?
Sen: I assume they'd just start burning things.
Kimigiku: That does sound like most humans I know.
Takeda: If you ladies are quite finished?
Sen: Now, now, don't get touchy. We're just here to lend you simple humans our help.
