Dr. Geraldine Tan is a medical doctor by day and an interior and lifestyle blogger by night. Geraldine started blogging as a creative outlet to balance her stressful job working in a London emergency department, and it’s become so successful, she’s worked with different brands creating for them while making a beautiful home for her family.

Her style is transitional with a mix of modern and period. (I still can’t quite understand “transitional.”) Embracing colors.

My home is like my decor studio. I love to style and change things around regularly to photograph them for social media,” Geraldine explains.

Geraldine’s best advice- If all goes wrong, just add some flowers. The beauty of nature trumps all.

The wallpaper in the hallway is Daisy Chain in Cobalt Blue and Pink.

The new blue and pink kitchen- isn’t it lovely?

They did a lateral extension on the kitchen to try to get more light into the basement family room.

Pretty pastel bath.

The decor studio.

“Every time you style with color, make sure you step back to see the room as a whole, and fine tune the colors by moving items around until it feels right. Repeat the standing back and viewing regularly.”

The master bedroom has all the colors of the rest of the house, but blue dominates. I like how she did the walls half very pale pink and blue.

The pastels she used in her son’s room are a combination of blues, pale green, and gold.

Her daughter’s room, though, with this cherry wallpaper!

Rich bought a 2 bdrm. Victorian home in Birmingham, UK a year ago. The whole place was painted beige, it was the middle of the Pandemic, and Rich had lost  his job. With lockdown in place and nowhere to go, Rich turned his focus into his house and transformed it into a colorful space.

As soon as you walk into the entrance hall, Rich wants to know, “Are you feeling festive yet?” In lockdown, transforming the home and documenting it on his Instagram page, @househomo, became a full time job.

This pineapple lamp was an early birthday present from his Grandma, and he love love loves it! They have a long running joke about pineapples because she HATES his pineapple tattoo

“There’s nothing more joyful than walking into a bright, colorful room and people are denying themselves that!” says Rich. He describes his style as retro futurism; it’s a term used in fashion for designers like Prada and Louis Vuitton but he feels like it rings true in Househomo — lots of retro color palettes and textures with bold, unexpected color choices!

He redecorated the dining room twice; it was the first room he painted when he moved in and as his aesthetic grew it no longer felt right, so now it’s a full vibe and he can’t WAIT to have friends over for dinner parties.

He tries to absorb as much inspiration as he can before designing and tries to emulate them ALL in his work, which is probably why there’re always so many shapes and colors.

The master bedroom is little more serene, but he used a  1919 Art Deco wallpaper to make a feature wall.

“I think people are worried about getting it wrong or it looking silly, but homes should be fun and reflect your personality!,” says Rich. This is the fabulous guest room.

The biggest challenge was probably the bathroom; he’d never plumbed anything before but was determined to do everything himself, including tiling the floor, making a sink cabinet, and new tapware.

He tried his hand at making a whale tail floral arrangement in the garden.

This home is FUN! Love it!

Thomas & Calle’s gorgeous & unique roof terrace attic apt. high above the rooftops of Stockholm.

The dark staircase against the white wall, and the graphically patterned Moroccan floor combined with the plants’ green color scheme, give a clear character to the atrium. The stairs are made by a blacksmith and connect the lower terrace with the upper one. 2 terraces!

On the upper terrace, they mixed roses and geraniums with southern European plants such as citrus trees and lavender. The chairs are auction finds.

Thomas and Calle had the kitchen doors manufactured and adapted to Ikea’s frames.

Breakfast is served on the lower terrace. The stairs connect the lower terrace with the upper one.

Powder pink walls against gray carpentry in the living room.

The open areas of the attic have been given a well-balanced color scheme with gray walls in the dining room and kitchen. But the living room walls are painted in the powder pink color.

The crystal carafes were bought at a flea market.

The gray-painted ceiling beams give extra character to the room. Farmer rococo chairs, dining table and gold mirror from Calle’s grandmother. The medicine cabinet was bought at auction, the chandelier comes from an antique shop.

The door lining is made as a decorative frame for the bedroom doorway, and was inserted by the previous owner. Calle and Thomas think it feels like art deco and like the style mix on the floor. On the floor in the bedroom is a sisal rug.

On the hook board hang pants in colors that match the interior, as a functional and decorative installation. The bedside table is from Calle’s grandmother.

Traveling in style in Louis Vuitton’s dog bags makes the dogs Balthazar, chihuahua mix, and Garbo, a long-haired dachshund.

The handmade sink was purchased on a trip abroad.  Walls and floors are Carrara marble.

Look at this little cutie - her name is Lola and she belongs to Lex.

Sometimes, ya just feel like taking your dog or cat and hitting the road in something like this.

It’s small, but it’s packed with a lot of the comforts of home in such a pretty way.

The bed turns into 2 comfy sofas.

Nice sturdy table & chairs, plus a TV.

She was able to fit in a toilet and a shower, it’s not fancy, but it serves the purpose.

Adorable little kitchen with a counter and storage.

So cozy, isn’t it?

But, wait. Lex did such a good job with Lola, she decided to buy Delilah. Here she is after she was freshly painted.

On the right is what Delilah looked like when Lex bought her, and the left is Delilah undergoing her conversion.

A van is a much smaller space than a bus and Lex decided to go with a more earthy decor this time.

Night vibes in Delilah.

Only in New York City would you find a pink & green apt. like this. It’s in NYC, but it was inspired by Mexican design.

The long green counter is amazing.

The sofa looks cushy and comfy, but it’s so light, I’d be afraid to sit on it.

The dining table is behind the sofa, but it looks quite a distance from the kitchen in the background.

This is supposed to be a state-of-the-art kitchen, but where is it? I can make out a pink sink & faucet. Is that a burner in the middle? No idea where the fridge is- maybe one of those doors, but what about an oven? This is weird.

The bedroom definitely looks Mexican hacienda style.

The kitchen is very turquoise and modern- look at the tub. I wonder how you turn the faucets on, I don’t see any taps. What a unique apt.

The apt. was designed for a young couple and is only  55 sqm / 592 sq. ft.
