my latest crochet piece that I’ve been affectionately calling a labrys of love 🥰

me: explaining how this was a self-designed pattern meant to reflect on and honor lesbian history while still acknowledging that there were often imperfections to that history such as the adoption of the labrys flag by “lesbian feminists” and the often associated transphobia/terf-ness; and by learning the history we can reclaim our connection to the lesbians before us and still carve out our own love and inclusion in the current community; the roots of the activists before us while still moving forward (not even to mention the symbolism in the inherent softness, time investment, and political history that comes in choosing fiber arts as a medium for any project etc etc)
