EMILIE AUTUMN backstage at Nottingham Rock City: shot for Rock Sound magazine

Emilie Autumn’s from LA and mixes a burlesque type show with semi-industrial pop-goth sounds. She may be little known in the mainstream, but she’s building a huge cult following. Her crowd is as colourful as she is. Rock Sound did a big live extravaganza spread on Emilie’s show at Rock City in Nottingham, so I got to poke around backstage shooting stage props and stuff before she came in, I shot some shots from the stage side - although the cages (yep) kind of got in the way. The shot above was taken as Emilie and her group The Bloody Crumpets (uh-huh) came offstage at the end of 90 minutes of Alice In Wonderland meets Marilyn Manson meets Kate Bush sort of shenanigans. The shot below was during the gig, obviously.
