[!] Block B’s Zico Reported to Release a New Collab Track with Brother Taewoon

According to an exclusive report by Ilgan Sports, Block B member Zico is gearing up to release a brand new collaboration song with his older brother Woo Taewoon (former SPEED member).

On June 26, a music industry insider revealed that brothers Zico and Taewoon recently wrapped up recording for a new hip-hop track. It will be their first time releasing a song as a sibling duo.

It is said that both Zico and Taewoon worked together to compose and write this upcoming song, and they are aiming to set the release date in the second half of this year.

Meanwhile, Taewoon is expected to appear in Mnet’s rap competition “Show Me the Money 4,” where he will be judged by his very own brother. The first broadcast will be airing on June 26 at 11 p.m. (KST).

As most of you know by now, Taewoon left SPEED (but not the company). He wants to be a solo artist.

A lot of DEEPs knew he was going to leave, but we didn’t want to spread that info until it was absolutely official. There have been hints for a while now, though.

Honestly, I think it’s great for Taewoon. If you follow his Twitter/Instagram, you can see how proud he is of his mixtape Doin’ a Free Fall (he even made the cover art himself because he’s a great all-around artist and it’s really good). His solo track “Blind” was on another level. He is just as good as any of the K-pop rappers who have done solo albums/songs. No one has a voice like Taewoon’s.

He’s going to be on Show Me the Money 4 (SMTM4). I cannot wait to see him going against those other rappers because it’s time for Taewoon to reap the appreciation that his skills deserve.

And it’s what makes him the happiest. Making his songs, speaking his mind, telling us about his struggles and his journey. He is determined to finally be seen and known as Taewoon; the media oftentimes waters down his identity, basing his fame on his status as a big brother.

The members of SPEED still support him. And he still supports them. You never know: behind-the-scenes, he might help with SPEED’s next album in some way, if there’s time. Who knows?

Also, it’s quite obvious that MBK Ent./Core Contents thinks SPEED has a bright future, especially since they are adding two new members. We already met one of the new members: Oh Seungri.

Overall, if changes must happen within a band, I’m thankful for the peaceful ones where members and the company are able to stay professional and supportive. I know that’s not always possible, but it is here. I’ll be cheering for both SPEED and Taewoon.

He is a skilled rapper and the leader of SPEED who has been doing lots of promotions in the underground scene and has shown unidol-like rapping skills. In addition, he caught many people’s attention for being the brother of Block B’s Zico and caught the attention once again for his rapping skills.

Recently, Woo Taewoon has expressed his will to participate in ‘Show Me The Money season 4′ along with his dreams to pursue a hip-hop solo career. As a conclusion, MBK Entertainment had accepted his opinions and has decided to positively support his promotions going from SPEED to a solo hip-hop career.

For the past 2 months, he had been busy practicing for his participation in ‘Show Me The Money’ season 4.  After coming to a conclusion as a solo artist, SPEED had been recruiting new members into the group and busy preparing for their comeback. Information about the new members is set to be revealed later on.
