Not everyone comes out from prison as pure hearted as Gongchan especially when he was falsely accused and abandoned by his own family. His prison friends are soo cute and their friendship is absolutely beautiful.

I think I saw a tweet about how Gongchan just knew Soojae for some days and professed his liking and what not. But he has actually known her and remembered her words for years. The support he got from his found family and Soojae 's words is what pushed him to do better and not live a life full of misery and hate. And I'm glad Gongchan chose this above everything. He faced injustice but chose to live his life differently, admired how Soojae believed in him when nobody did and probably wanted to meet and thank her for that belief. But he definitely fell for the Soojae he had met soo many years ago. She's still there, but she just needs someone who will believe her too. And Gongchan understood her hardship perfectly. God I love them. They truly are made for each other.
