It's interesting how in The Odyssey, Odysseus faces things women typically face: dominance of the opposite sex. First, he's chosen and trained by Athena, a goddess, and he has to follow her commands. Later, on his journey back home, he has to submit to Circe in order to save himself and his crew. Then he has to deal with Scylla's ruthlessness. At last, the goddess Calypso keeps him trapped on her island simply because she likes this shiny new toy. In every step, Odysseus is too weak against these powerful women. Much like a woman in a patriarchal world. Much like the nymphs from Greek mythology.

Mike Wheeler has the opposite of a character development. He started out great and gradually became worse. Every time he's on screen I wanna throw up. I hope he dies in season 5.
