instead of whatever the hell that was, creulla should have spent like 20 minutes laying groundwork with scenes of her pampered and privileged childhood w/ voiceover from cruella like "my childhood was so hard. my parents couldn't afford luxury or nice things" and she's totally sincere but the video makes is clear that by "couldn't afford luxury" she means "couldn't afford more luxury" and her standard for comparison is her like, equally extravagantly wealthy neighbors or smth and then after that the rest of the movie is about her horribly evil and unethical rise through the fashion industry but we keep the unreliable narration w/ her internal justifications for why she's the good guy, actually

Cruella 2021

Given my blog’s predisposition to being one of the places online to get some Cruella meta, fashion spams, character analysis etc, it only seems appropriate that I give some thoughts about the latest incarnation, Gillespie’s “Cruella”

Rahul Kohli Just Wants to Be a Bad Boy
The Haunting of Bly Manor star is much too nice for that though.
The Cut
It’s a joke, but also not: Kohli is deeply critical of himself — he says he called his publicist and ranted about how terrible he was for an hour after watching Bly. It’s obvious, though, that he has a lot more than facial hair going for him. His personality is a fascinating blend of blasé and earnest, and he has a kind of unaffected intensity that makes it difficult to look away from him when he’s speaking. He says he’s an atheist with “a weakness for astrology” (he’s a Scorpio), a lone wolf, and an obsessive, whose fixations have included Japanese cinema and the Rocky franchise. He’s extremely funny, both in the one-liner kind of way, and the deranged way. In short, just talking with him is unpredictable, and thrilling; watching him act is even better.
