Some more characters from my unnamed superhero headworld. These are a couple of the gang members.

Left is Derrek Howser, with his dog Killer Queen AKA Killer AKA Queenie. Derrek has been with the gang since he was sixteen, saved by an up-and-coming crime lord from torture, who is now his boss. He'd die for him, and has taken a literal bullet for him. Queenie is a pit bull mix that was one of dozens the gang rescued from a dog fighting ring. She's a huge suck and loves cuddles (especially with cats! Soft friends!).

Right is Ali Khalil AKA Tommy, with his polydactyl cat Monty. Ali's been with the gang since he was sixteen as well, as a gopher. He needed the money to take care of his mother, who has vascular dementia. He also works as a warehouse worker and a cashier at Wawa. Monty is the huge Maine coon he adopted when he found that coming home to an empty apartment was depressing him.

These two are the heart of the gang. Always positive, always ready to lend a helping hand, and with more empathy than they know what to do with.

Fourth week of OC-tober!

23) Bakhiel. Fallen angel. Was made with one arm. All fluids are black. Plays Pokemon. Total asshole.

24) Sherri. Mutant/selkie. Vitiligo vaguely mimics ribbon seal markings. Shifts when submerged in water

25)  Baalil. Inner demon. Can be bipedal. Not malevolent. Can't help her nature. Feeds off pain.

26)  Luz. Trigender. Technosexual. Researches tech to help w/ agriculture 200+ years from now.

27) Tommy. 18yo Pakistani. Gopher of a gang to make money to take care of his mom who has dementia.

28) Stain. A monster named after the black blood he constantly drools. Always hungry. Always hunting.

Jason Todd as a crime lord

Okay so in me and my boyfriend’s DC RP AU Red Hood is a crime lord. This means he has underlings, guys he orders around, people he looks after. I’ve become so accustomed to thinking of Jason this way that I am consistently surprised that there aren’t more fics out there around the idea.

And then I remember that whoops, he works alone, and just uses violence and threats to control the actual crime lords of Gotham.

BUT WHAT IF

Red Hood became a crime lord? 

Okay, no, hear me out. He probably lets the other crime lords do their thing, but he undoubtedly has some men who fall directly under his control. And y’know what? I don’t think he’d be a tyrant ruler either.

These would be men who need jobs. Who are trying to survive on the streets. Who are trying to escape worse fates and lives under the control of other crime lords. Who are just kids that need a sense of family.

Because people seem to forget that these criminals? These guys that make up gangs and the like? They’re people too. They’re doing these things for a reason. Maybe it’s a noble reason, maybe it’s a slimy reason, but they’ve still all got their own reasons for doing these things.

In our AU, Pietro is ex-mafia, probably ex-DeCavalcante. Spent 25 years in jail, and when he came out, he struggled to readjust to civi life. So he became Hood’s gangs psychologist. He had the training, had the degree, but he also had a criminal record that guaranteed he’d never get a job in the field. So Hood pays him to make sure his boys get proper mental health care. Because if you’re in a gang, your life probably isn’t peaches and roses and you probably go through a lot of shit.

Hiro is Hood’s second in command for when he’s too busy with more important things. He’s probably part of the Yakuza and is on lend to Hood for something or other.

And then you’ve got Tommy, who’s just a kid at 16, and Hood keeps him out of trouble. Mostly uses him as a gopher. The kid is working to raise enough money so that when he turns 18 he can get legal guardianship of his mom, who has dementia. Tommy isn’t his real name, but Hood’s gang is his surrogate family, and that’s how they know him, so it may as well be.

Derrek is in his mid-20s and no one but Hood knows his story. He’s a really happy and chipper and outgoing guy, but he’s got a pretty tragic history that he’s trying to put behind him.

So Jason has all these guys that work for him (there’s a lot more) and they are something of a family, and they’ve seen his face (he’s legally dead, what the fuck does he care) and he watches out for them and is viciously protective of them. Moreso than the men that are under the other crime lords that he controls.

I dunno I just have A LOT OF FEELS for crime lord!Jason and no one else even thinks of him like that so I’ve got my boyfriend and that’s it and just aghhhhhh -lays down in feels-

FeyPhoenix was kind enough to buy two commissions from me and gave me absolute free reign to draw absolutely whatever I wanted on them both! So a huge thank you to them!

This is the first one, and I chose to draw one of my newer OCs, Tommy. He's a sweetheart who joined a gang to help make enough money so that when he turns 18 he can gain legal guardianship of his mom, who has dementia and is in a nursing home. He's also got a huge man-crush on his boss' boyfriend (who he only knows as Edge), and in this image it seems he made a tag in his name.

Too bad he dies when he gets a real job working at a Wawa convenience store. Place gets held up and he tries to play hero.

On the right is my first attempt at Tommy, and on the right is after someone redlined him to make him look more his age. So now the one on the right is him were he to ever survive past 18, and on the right is him now.

I fucking love this kid. Like, I don't think I can actually describe how much I love him. Boyfriend thinks I don't because I'm gonna kill him off, but I plan to resurrect him as a non-fandom OC.

But damn does he grow into a hot piece of ass. Like... he's supposed to have a big goofy grin and a broken nose and too big of ears but despite it all (or maybe because of it) he grows up mighty fine, if I do say so myself.

I still need to figure out an actual name for him, seeing as how Tommy is his nickname. His real name is much more reflective of his heritage. I imagine when he's older he actually lightens a bit due to all the night shifts he pulls. I also like to imagine that he at least attempts to get his GED once his mom is under his legal care, because he acknowledges that looking after his mom isn't going to be the rest of his life.

I figure Jay also eventually just rebreaks his nose to straighten it out 'cause he gets tired of hearing Tommy complain about it lol

So I have this OC I made for me and spartadog's DC AU RP (wow much acronym), he's a 16yo Pakistani kid in Jason's gang named Tommy. I made him to deal with the death of Tommy in the show Arrow. The only similarities he has with that Tommy are the name, his gender, and that they're both destined to die :|

Yeah, my character's like to tell me when they're gonna die. And Tommy's let me know that he's not gonna live to be 18.

So he works for Jay as basically an errand boy/gopher. He doesn't get involved with anything dangerous, and he's not allowed to carry a gun. Jay's rules. His real name isn't actually Tommy, but when he joined he wanted a badass nickname so he chose a badass weapon, the tommygun. Unfortunately it didn't take long for the "gun" part of the nickname to be dropped by the other guys.

He joined Red Hood's gang to make some money. He needs a lot of cash in a short amount of time. See, his mom is in a home for the mentally ill. She has dementia, and doesn't recognize him more often than not. Tommy wants to raise enough money to get a place so he can get legal guardianship of his mother when he turns 18.

He also has a giant mancrush on Ian, and Ian sorta took him under his wing. When Ian got shot (almost fatally) by Deathstroke, Tommy made all the guys sign a get well soon card (or, well, they wrote little "yo get better asshole" and "boss is cranky without ya around so hurry the fuck back" notes so that Tim or Bruce couldn't track down Jason's gang so easily) for Ian, who until very recently was bedridden in Wayne Manor under Tim's supervision.

Tommy also recently got a job in a convenience store, so he has a more "legitimate" income to show the government when it comes time to take custody of his mother.

Except that job's gonna get him killed. Literally. A guy down on his luck robs the place, and when Tommy tries to talk him down he gets shot when the would-be robber panics. 

And my boyfriend is threatening me bodily harm if I follow through with this but Tommy already told me he dies and it feels "wrong" when I make them live past their expiration date, so to speak.

...but I'm really tempted to throw him in an AU somewhere. Maybe make him get adopted by White and Sherri. Except then I'd have to figure out what kind of mutant powers to give him. Probably something that was the cause of his mother getting dementia...

Anyways yeah, see how quickly my one-time character's turn into full fledged OCs in the blink of an eye? IT HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME!
