July 30th, 1965 (Saville Theatre, London): While rehearsing for their upcoming North American tour, The Beatles are interviewed by Dibbs Mather for radio broadcast. They fool around and talk about their upcoming ventures.
PAUL: Well, I’m doing a lot of symphony work on my own at the moment.
JOHN: Who’s that talking?
PAUL: This is Paul. Doing a lot of symphony work, and um, I’m—
GEORGE: I’m branching out as fullback for West Ham United.
JOHN: Who’s that talking?
PAUL: That’s George. And I’ve also got coming up, lead in the new Tarzan film.
JOHN: Who’s that talking?
PAUL: Paul. But I ought to be, you know, promising, if it offers me full scope for my acting and physical abilities.
DIBBS: This may destroy the image that’s already, uh, built. For The Beatles.
PAUL: No, I don’t think it will, actually.
JOHN: Who’s that talking? [John and George laugh]
PAUL: John’s sort of built up a bit of a Tarzan image.
