2017 has been an unforgettable year for the kpop world, filled with both groundbreaking and tragic events. But I think that those kinds of events are what bring people together, so while I’ve cried a lot this year, I’ve also laughed and loved a lot and became closer with people. More specifically for Seventeen, they too have grown a lot. They’ve become a group that people look up to as sunbaes, and every time I see a group cover a Seventeen song, I get this sense of pride and gratitude that their hard work paid off, and they’re getting the recognition they deserve. Winning first place on music shows and getting awards isn’t a far-away dream anymore; it’s a reality, and one that we as fans have to work for, but it isn’t something that’s unexpected or completely surprising anymore. And I think that says a lot about their growth as artists. The fandom continues to grow, and their music and choreography continues to touch the hearts of people all over the world.
