It was past midnight, and the rundown house on Spinners End, tucked in between equally run down houses, was cloaked in near darkness. The only source of light came from the glow of a lamp in the living room, turned down low and set on the end table next to the couch. You and Severus were laying on the couch under a blanket, arms around each other and your leg hitched over his hip. Severus watched your eyes drifted closed as you fell asleep in his arms. His heart clenched, as it always did, at the love and warmth he felt when you were near. He wondered if he would ever truly get used to feeling this way. To him, the warmth of your love was like spring sunlight touching winter snow, thawing and soothing every ache in his heart and soul. He wanted to know that feeling forever. You and he had been each other's shelter and happiness for the last three years. With you, he'd started thinking of a hopeful future. Something he hadn't done since he was eleven, and his hope had been cruelly crushed. For the longest time, he'd waited for the same to happen with you. Would someone or something take you from him too? But nothing had. You had stayed by his side, protected him as he protected you. And something broken inside him started knitting itself back together.
Somewhere in the distance, there was the sound of shattering glass and the muffled wail of a siren. This was far from a good town, but it was the only place you had to live at the moment. The house was newly warded though and you were both safe inside. Yesterday, you had both graduated. That same day, you packed your belongings, walked hand in hand to the edge of the Hogwarts grounds, and apparated away. Most of today had been spent cleaning and repairing the house that had stood empty for almost a year. There was much that still needed to be done. Figuring out what to do next, finding work. But that could all wait for now. Right now, Severus just let himself be in this moment, with you safely tucked up in his arms. With you, he was home.
Severus; “I don't need to go to bed. I'm not tired, I'll be fine.”
Y/N; “But, darling, I'll be so lonely without you. Come curl up in my arms so I can feel whole again.”
Severus; “oh. Well. …Are you trying to seduce me into healthy sleeping patterns??”
Y/N; “Is it working?”

(Just a quick one-shot. I was in need of come soft comfort)
It was Christmas break and the school was nearly empty. Sev was the only Slytherin staying over this time and he was making use of the peace to catch up on his studying and research. He was in the empty Great Hall one afternoon, a stack of books on the table beside him as he read. The sound of the large doors opening jolted him from his concentration and he looked up to see who it was.
When he saw you, snow caked and windblown, dragging your trunk behind you, he jumped up and ran to you. "What are you doing here?" He asked, taking in your bedraggled appearance, "Are you alright." "They kicked me out" you stated flatly, biting the inside of your cheek to keep tears from rising into your already sore eyes. Sev said nothing, just nodded his head once in understanding. He knew the troubles you had at home and new not to push. You would talk about it if and when you were ready. Sev wrapped his arm around your shoulders and lead you to his place at the table. As he helped you off with your snow crusted cloak, he asked, "How did you even get here?" "I hitch hiked to London, then floo'd from the Leaky Cauldron to Hogsmeade." you explained. Sev held you close against his side as you sat on the bench next to him, rubbing your arms briskly to warm you. "You're half frozen. Have you eaten anything?" You shook your head, leaning against Sev for warmth. Sev knocked on the table twice and a house elf, Winnie, popped up next to them. "You call me, Mr Snape?" "Winnie, could you bring us a plate of food, please, and some hot cocoa?" Winnie looked at you with concern in her big eyes before smiling softly at you both, "Coming right up!" she said before disappearing.
A moment later, a tray of soup, sandwiches and hot cocoa for two appeared on the table in front of you. Sev slid a soup bowl closer to you, "Eat, it'll warm you and you'll feel better. What would you like to do after we eat? A bath, a nap?" You took a few spoons of the soup before reaching for your cocoa mug, "Cuddle in front of the fireplace?" you asked, softly, holding the mug in both hands to warm them. "Of course we can."
A few hours later, you were curled up together on a couch in your common room. You were fast asleep with your head on his chest. He kept his arms wrapped firmly around you. A few more months, he thought, then you'd both be finished with school. Then you could leave together, and he would always keep you safe.

Minerva; (walking past) "Yes, we do."
Severus; “I give up. I am so tired.”
Minerva; “Get the emergency supply!”
Albus; *carries in Y/N and places you in front of Severus *
Y/N; *smiles*
Severus; “AND I AM BACK! LET’S GO!”
