Gay men took the side of trans-identified males when they started to invade women's safe spaces, stealing their sports and scholarships, undermining sex-based rights that women only very recently in history had managed to secure.

They told lesbians they're bigots if they don't agree that a man is a lesbian if he says that he is and if they're not willing to have sex with him.

They have re-written history to take away from lesbians the credit for Stone Wall and give it to trans women instead, just as they wrote out of history all the heterosexual women allies who supported them through the AIDS crisis and many other crisis besides.

They have never cared about female specific ongoing tragedies such as Indian women dying in menstrual huts in India, or African women dying of female genital mutilations in Africa - after all, these are issues that do not affect them personally so they're not important.

And even though AIDS has since the 1980s become one of the leading causes of death for women worldwide they have never showed up for that crisis, even though women were the ones who campaigned for them and their rights when they needed it.

In their eyes women when women show up for them they are doing nothing more than their duty, as women exist to serve men not the other way around so why should they feel any sense of gratitude or loyalty in return?

Why would they care now that women have lost their right to abortion and next will lose the rest of their reproductive rights? When have they ever come to our rescue? They would sooner show up to sing "We saw your boobs" alongside the misogynist men who rape women, like they have done so many times before. Stay classy, guys.

John Stoltenberg - A Feminist Guide to Gay Male Misogyny

What is gay male misogyny? What distinguishes it as gay and male? Why do gay men do it? What does it do to others when we do it? What does it do to ourselves when we do it? And what can we do about it?

A talk by John Stoltenberg April 19, 2013, at Wake Forest University for a symposium titled "Rewriting Homosexuality."

A couple of months ago the Oscars, the 2013 Oscars, opened with a song that Seth MacFarlane sang.

A show of hands, does this ring a bell, did anybody here in the room see this? Maybe about half of you.

Well, let me recap it for those who didn't see it: Seth MacFarlane begins singing a song and the song is "We saw your boobs", and it's a recital of different female actors names and films they appeared in; and the chorus is "in the movie that we saw we saw your boobs". He sings this song and then the curtains open: it's the Los Angeles Gay Men's Chorus. They join in on the last verse.

What wasn't apparent at the time was that at least four of the women actors who were named in that song lyric, their breasts appeared on screen because their characters had been raped.

Jodie Foster in "The Accused", her breasts were visible on screen during a flashback her character is having about the rape. And her assailants are violently ripping her breasts out of her shirt. (sing songs) "In the movie that we saw we saw your boobs".

Hilary Swank in "Boys Don't Cry", she's playing a trans man, Brandon Teena, we see Hilary Swank's breasts during a medical examination after Teena's character has been brutally raped on the trunk of a car. Her breasts are swollen and dark with bruises and Hillary Swank as the character flinches. (sing songs) "In the movie that we saw we saw your boobs".

Similarly Halle Berry in "Monsters Ball", her name was referenced in this song lyric; Charlize Theron, in "Monster". And I'm setting the scene in this way for my topic today, which is gay male misogyny.

(...)

There's actually a conversation about gay male misogyny going on online. It's fairly extensive (…) It's very disturbing, but in a culture that doesn't see gay men who are perceived as queer as men having male privilege our misogyny and sexist acts are instead read as diva worship or celebrating women, even when in reality they are objectification, assault and dehumanization.

Purity culture is not important to Mormons. Whether you're straight or gay you can be as promiscuous as you like. It's only when it comes to marriage that they only allow straight couples (who apparently don't need to be virgins at the time of their union).

So the whole thing about how purity is so fundamental to their cult is hogwash.

Curious.

"Part of it (of the decision to leave the church) was the decision that the church made to make gay marriage this thing where if you enter into a gay marriage now you are eligible to be excommunicated from the church for apostasy.

And that decision was just so wrong in so many ways because… they did that, that was part 1; part 2 of that was your kids, any kids you have living at home with you or as their primary residence, could not be baptized into the church, or blessed as a baby, or partake in any of those things, which is basically shunning those kids.

And so that decision in 2015 really was an eye-opener for me, I think it was one of the last straws. I just went, there's no way that's right because just thinking of that policy (they didn't call it a doctrine, they called it a policy, actually president Nelson called it a doctrine in a talk) they made it so that if you get gay married that's the problem. You can be promiscuous, you can go have sex with lots of other people, you can be gay and be promiscuous, you can be straight and be promiscuous (and not get excommunicated). But the moment you get gay married that's where you're up for apostasy and that's when you can get excommunicated."

You will also notice that, as is so often the case, this moid was put off by the church's constant barrage of misogyny... but not so put off by it that it made him reconsider his loyalty to the Mormons. But the minute that they did something anti-gay, now that's beyond the pale! Because even though he's straight and therefore not directly affected by homophobia, some gay people are male whereas misogyny only affects women so fuck them, even if they are your own wife or mother.

Thanks for nothing, guys.

the funny thing is that i don't think younger people - and i mean those under the age of 40 - really have a grasp on how many of today's issues can be tied back to a disastrous reagan policy:

  1. war on drugs: reagan's aggressive escalation of the war on drugs was a catastrophic policy, primarily targeting minority communities and fueling mass incarceration. the crusade against drugs was more about controlling the Black, Latino and Native communities than addressing the actual problems of drug abuse, leading to a legacy of broken families and systemic racism within the criminal justice system.
  2. deregulation and economic policies: reaganomics was an absolute disaster for the working class. reagan's policies of aggressive tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, and slashing social programs were nothing less than class warfare, deepening income inequality and entrenching corporate greed. these types of policies were a clear message that reagan's america was only for the wealthy elite and a loud "fuck you" to working americans.
  3. environmental policies: despite his reputation being whitewashed thanks to the recovery of the ozone layer, reagan's environmental record was an unmitigated disaster. his administration gutted critical environmental protections and institutions like the EPA, turning a blind eye to pollution and corporate exploitation of natural resources. this blatant disregard for the planet was a clear sign of prioritizing short-term corporate profits over the future of the environment.
  4. AIDS crisis: reagan's gross neglect of the aids crisis was nothing short of criminal and this doesn't even begin to touch on his wife's involvement. his administration's indifference to the plight of the lgbtq+ community during this devastating epidemic revealed a deep-seated bigotry and a complete failure of moral leadership.
  5. mental health: reagan's dismantling of mental health institutions under the guise of 'reform' led directly to a surge in homelessness and a lack of support for those with mental health issues. his policies were cruel and inhumane and showed a personality-defining callous disregard for the most vulnerable in society.
  6. labor and unions: reagan's attack on labor unions, exemplified by his handling of the patco strike, was a blatant assault on workers' rights. his actions emboldened corporations to suppress union activities, leading to a significant erosion of workers' power and rights in the workplace. he was colloquially known as "Ronnie the Union Buster Reagan"
  7. foreign policy and military interventions: reagan's foreign policy, particularly in latin america, was imperialist and ruthless. his administration's support for dictatorships and right-wing death squads under the guise of fighting "communism" showed a complete disregard for human rights and self-determination of other nations.
  8. public health: yes, reagan's agricultural policies actually facilitated the rise of high fructose corn syrup, once again prioritizing corporate profits over public health. this shift in the food industry has had lasting negative impacts on health, contributing to the obesity epidemic and other health issues.
  9. privatization: reagan's push for privatization was a systematic dismantling of public services, transferring wealth and power to private corporations and further eroding the public's access to essential services.
  10. education policies: his approach to education was more of an attack on public education than anything else, gutting funding and promoting policies that undermined equal access to quality education. this was, again, part of a broader agenda to maintain a status quo where the privileged remain in power.

this is just what i could come up with in a relatively short time and i did not even live under this man's presidency. the level at which ronald reagan has broken the united states truly can't be overstated.

Bc ive been doing research on it lately: reagans deregulation of industry cause My Little Pony (specifically the tv shows) And he-man and rainbow brite and every other toy tie in cartoon

In the 1970s the Federal Communications Commission was beginning to regulate childrens programming and advertising. Parents didnt want children watching thirty minute commercials for toy products and wanted educational content.

Reagan stripped the FCCs powers and led to the toy-franchise television show model that My Little Pony and others operated on. In the 90s they did create more protective legislation around childrens tv but it wasnt as strong as it had been before.

AIDS crisis: reagan's gross neglect of the aids crisis was nothing short of criminal and this doesn't even begin to touch on his wife's involvement.

When you click on the link regarding Nancy Reagan this is what it actually says: "The former first lady fought the most conservative elements of the Reagan administration in an attempt to get her husband to pay more attention to the deadly pandemic. It wasn't enough."

However if you are a misogynist being fair to women means nothing to you because the first rule of misogyny is that women are to blame for men's crimes.

TiM tells on himself

This conversation is so demented that I actually did a search to see if it actually happened and yes it did.

This explains why that voice in the "queer theory" video accused Derrick Jensen of being a transphobe when the subject never came up and he was actually criticizing paedophilia.

Derrick Jensen: There is a long correlation between anarchism and pedophilia and support for pedophilia.

Audience: Outbursts of anger.

Audience 1: Can you talk about something relevant?

Derrick Jensen: Oh wait wait wait that’s a beautiful line, thank you so much for asking ‘How about something relevant? I’ve been talking about rape culture all day and pedophilia and the support of pedophilia is not rape culture?

Actually, you’re acting as if this were a spurious connection so we’re gonna play Jeopardy. We’re gonna play Queer theory / pedophilia Jeopardy.

Ok, answer: Commonly called the godfather of queer theory.

Audience 1: Foucault.

Audience 2: Who is Foucault?

Derrick Jensen: Who is Foucault?! Ok 100 points!

Hum Foucault, another way to ask this is: Who argued?… No I guess the answer would be: ‘Argued for the eradication of age of consent laws as in down to infants’.

Audience 1: Who is Foucault?

Audience 2: Thank you.

Derrick Jensen: Ok, next one: The author of the founding document of queer theory.

Audience 1: Who is Gayle Rubin?

Derrick Jensen: Who is Gayle Rubin?!

What percentage?… No, no the answer is: 50%. Question is?

Audience 1: The amount in that article that was a defense of pedophilia, specifically the defense of Boy Lovers who were men not boys.

Audience: Applause.

Derrick Jensen: And since you’re not believing me: quote, quote, this is in the founding document of queer theory:

‘Like communists and homosexuals in the 1950s, Boy Lovers are so stigmatized that it is difficult to find defenders of their civil liberties let alone for their erotic orientation.’

That’s in the founding document of queer theory. Oh I’m sorry I’m using facts!

Audience: Laughter, applause.

Derrick Jensen: A thousand apologies, one must never let facts in the way!

Oh she also compared by the way pedophilia, (outbursts of anger in the room) she compared pedophilia to a preference for spicy food. The thing is I have never heard of anyone who asked to have years of therapy because they ate hot and sour soup.

Audience: Applause.

Derrick Jensen: Ok so up to 200. Now it is, now it is pedophilia and queer theory for 300. That would be: Author of Macho Sluts and Public Sex.

Audience 1: Pat Califia!

Derrick Jensen: Pat Califia!

Audience 2: Derrick Jensen is an eco-fascist.

Audience: Laughter.

Derrick Jensen: Wait, wait, wait, what was it that somebody said? Stay relevant!

Audience: Laughter, applause, complaints.

Derrick Jensen: Ok, let’s talk about Pat Califia.

Audience: Complaints.

Audience 1: Fucking transphobe.

Audience: Complaints.

Derrick Jensen: Here is something from one of Pat Califia’s books.

Audience: Complaints.

Derrick Jensen: You know it’s really interesting that when I actually start talking about the relationship between queer theory and anarchism and pedophilia that hum it becomes… they really want to shut me up now.

Audience 1: They sure do.

Audience: Outbursts of anger

Derrick Jensen: Ok so here’s Pat Califia.

Audience: Complaints.

Audience: Indistinct debate.

Audience 1: You’re a homophobe.

Derrick Jensen: Pat Califia… Oh wait wait wait, just a second, just a second I was accused of homophobia because I am against pedophilia… Who is it who actually makes the connection between that?

Audience: Applause.

Derrick Jensen: Ok here’s something by Pat Califia.

Audience: Complaints.

Derrick Jensen: Pat Califia has written:

‘Any child old enough to decide whether or not he or she wants to eat spinach, play with trucks or wear shoes is old enough to decide whether or not she wants to run around naked in the sun, masturbate, sit in someone’s lap or engage in sexual activity.’

By which she does not mean play doctor, she means with adults, she’s very clear about that because she also says that pedophiles should be more and not less invested in children’s lives.

Ok so we were at 300, 400! Is the most famous queer theorist of today, answer!

Audience 1: Judith Butler.

Derrick Jensen: No, it is not Judith Butler! It is ‘Who is Judith Butler’?

Audience: Laughter.

Derrick Jensen: Ok Judith Butler is the most famous queer theorist of the day.

Audience 1: We see you all of you supporting here. You do not care about trans people’s lives.

Audience: Complaints.

Derrick Jensen: Ok, ok here’s a great quote from Judith Butler. Here’s a great quote from Judith Butler.

Audience: Indistinct debate.

Audience 1: That’s the fucking truth. You don’t care about trans people’s lives.

Derrick Jensen: Ok, so Judith Butler wrote:

‘So, I keep adding this qualification: “when incest is a violation, suggesting that I think there may be occasions in which it is not. Why would I talk that way? Well, I do think that there are

Audience 1: We see you!

Derrick Jensen: Well, I do think that there are probably forms of incest that are not necessarily traumatic or which gain their traumatic character by virtue of the consciousness of social shame that they produce.’

Yeah that’s Judith Butler, that’s one of the queer heroes.

Ok now we have for 500, we have the last one in the Queer Theory and pedophilia. The answer is: queer theorist who has spoken out strongly against pedophilia?

Audience 1: 0

Audience 2: 0

Audience 3: Who is no one?

Derrick Jensen: Who is no one? Not a single one. Because the entire thing is based on transgressing.

Audience 1: Dear fucking God.

Derrick Jensen: Yeah, I know, dear fucking God!

I didn't know there was a fuller version of this video that apparently keeps getting deleted on Youtube. So I found it and made a transcript of the debate as much as I could make it out (the sound is terrible) so that even if the video is pulled at least we'll still have the written transcript (under the cut). I start at the same point where the previous video stops.

The TL;DR is that queer theory takes advantage of people's good will towards gay rights to establish a false equivalency: if you support gay people and agree that they are / were unjustly persecuted by society for what is a harmless sexual behavior it must therefore follow that ALL other sexual behaviors, including anti-social ones like paedophilia, are equally harmless and unjustly persecuted and like homosexuality should also be normalized and decriminalized.

If you don't agree you are then accused by queer theorists of being someone who wishes to repress ALL out-of-the-norm / minority sexual behaviors, including homosexuality and of course transgenderism.

Hence why in this lecture a mild mannered intellectual who showed up at a school to talk about saving the planet ended up being accused of being both a homophobe and a transphobe for speaking out against paedophilia.

So now I have a better understanding of what happened here: because this guy made it known that he is a gender critic a trans activist mob showed up to fuck shit up. They derailed his lecture away from ecology to queer theory and then accused him of wanting to say that gays are pedos.

There's no hope for the LGBT community with people like this. If people don't stand up against this they'll stand up for nothing.

And may I say that there isn't a single intelligent person in that audience and in particular to that dutiful handmaiden of the patriarchy who keeps shouting smears at this good man: I now understand that you were trying to impress that trans woman you think is so pretty, you disgusting and loathsome class traitor.

Derrick Jensen's controversial talk at the Eugene Public Library in Oregon in 2018.

if you ever need to explain to some dumbass why “menstruator” is an unacceptable term to refer to females, @science-side-of-me just broke it down ever so elegantly in the notes on this post:

Absolute legend

I grew up hearing gay men referring to women as "breeders" and now trans-identified males call us "menstruators". They learned everything they know from the gay community, there's nothing new under the sun.

Recently I received a panicked call from a father who had been arrested and held overnight in a police cell.

His 'crime'? His teenage daughter had told her parents she was attracted to girls... and now identified as a boy.

When her parents questioned this, pointing out that being a girl was no bar to liking another girl, she telephoned the police and told them she was in imminent danger. The police were soon knocking at the family's door.

Unbelievable as it may seem, this is just one of the many horror stories I hear daily, courtesy of my work for Sex Matters, the campaigning organisation established to protect sex-based rights.

Such accounts pour into my inbox every day from desperate parents whose confused adolescent children have decided they are living in the 'wrong' body.

Some of them are merely going through the confusion that marks our often tumultuous teenage years. Many of them are gay but struggling to accept, or even understand, their sexuality.

What they need is to be nurtured, told they are loved and allowed to explore their identity without judgment. Instead, all too many are told they are transgender. Some are placed terrifyingly quickly on a medical pathway to irreversible physical changes.

It is little short of child abuse — in some cases motivated by by what I would label blatant homophobia.

This is why I almost wept with relief on Wednesday when I learned that women and equalities minister Kemi Badenoch had bravely spoken out on the subject.

I love, and by love I mean it amuses me, is how Jo is basically living rent free in her antis/haters' heads. Like they claim they hate her so much and yet she's constantly on their minds. You'd think that since they hate her they'd want to think of her as little as possible. They at this point amuse me greatly lmao

This reminds me of a post i've seen today about a writer who put a reference to Sirius/Lupin into their book (apparently one that was semi-successful enough to get a Netflix deal, about a UK prince and a US president's son? it sounded like an ao3 fic turned booktok of the month). Apparently that writer had a moment where one of the protagonists says "i don't care what Joanne says, Remus Lupin is queer!" or something like that, i shit you not. xD Can you imagine how deeply online one has to be to go as far as putting that in an actual book and publish it? The only reason we don't find it as strange as the Snapewives is because it doesn't have the same obviously bizarre sexual component (it does have one i think but it's more subtle than "we worship him and have sex on the astral plane"… I so dearly wish we had an escaped ex-stan to tell us about it. The closest i've come to see it was that testimony from that detrans girl who mentioned how roleplaying in her head as Draco and Harry was a big part of why she convinced herself she was trans). Imagine being Jo, undercover on tumblr to work on her next book, and seeing these people be completely possessed by their made-up versions of not just who she is but who those characters - which she made - are. It's all… hers… she literally wrote that story. The bafflement?

Ohh...you're thinking of Red, White & Royal Blue. I haven't personally read the book or watched the netflix movie, but I've seen reviews, and based on those it's mostly popular cause it's a happy gay story, which is kinda sad, I think, how people will latch onto a bad story just cause it's rare to read/watch a happy gay story. Anyway, yeah, I heard of that qoute and like, I agree with you, the fact that it's in a published book is beyond me; then again, plenty trash gets published so lol

Also, you know but I do wonder how much Jo saw when she was doing research on tumblr lmao. Like, if she saw all the Sirius/Lupin, and Snapewives and other insane parts of the fandom, I wonder what went through her head lol

I've been told it's actually (surprisingly) not a Netflix film but a Prime one. I wouldn't feel sad for these reviews. Based on what i've learned it sounds like fujo content at its worst. Also, i know it's not perfectly representative, but it's still a bit telling that none of the gay men i follow have blogged about it.

Re: Jo, she's probably seen worse than you think, she already said once that she was curious enough to check the Mugglenet forum or something like that in the 2000s. She said people behaved like bullies to new accounts who dared to post unpopular theories, which went against everything that's in the books.

turning feminism from a radical social movement with the capacity to create real change into a fun quirky fandom that you can buy merch for at urban outfitters is one of the worst crimes of late stage capitalism/21st century western individualism. the current state of feminism is damning evidence that there’s no way to kill an activist movement more effectively than commodifying it.

exhibit no. 324827787583045.07.

"21st century western individualism"? I'm pretty sure that article is in English.

In New York city they have an annual event (meaning every single year this happens) called (sic) the Dyke March. Lesbians who call themselves by a slur, all in the name of the dignity of being a gay person, of course. American lesbians call themselves this every single year.

And it's by now a tradition that at a certain point during this event women are expected to get their tits out - all in the name of the dignity of women, feminism and homosexuality, naturally.

Young women are told that if they're not willing to strip naked in public they're just not feminist enough, or sufficiently supportive of their gay sisters.

The suckers who are suckered into this are then photographed by men who only hang around at this event for this precise reason: so they can get their cameras or cell phones out and take pictures of naked women and upload those images onto the internet, where those images will stay forever for the whole world to see.

The nightmare is not "what if all women attending a feminist event wore the same t-shirt, or put on the same shade of lipstick." That would be fine. The nightmare is already here and has been for many years.

Why would you choose to decorate this way if it gives you “”””””dysphoria””””””

See, this is just proof that they think there is a right and a wrong way to be a man/woman. What is it about this room that makes her dysphoric? If she's a man then this is the room of a man, no? Why does she want to change it? Why does she think this isn't a masculine room? There is literally no way for this room to make her dysphoric unless she had a clear image in her mind of what is and isn't "man like". This is literally gender roles cranked up to its highest setting.
