I love, and by love I mean it amuses me, is how Jo is basically living rent free in her antis/haters' heads. Like they claim they hate her so much and yet she's constantly on their minds. You'd think that since they hate her they'd want to think of her as little as possible. They at this point amuse me greatly lmao

This reminds me of a post i've seen today about a writer who put a reference to Sirius/Lupin into their book (apparently one that was semi-successful enough to get a Netflix deal, about a UK prince and a US president's son? it sounded like an ao3 fic turned booktok of the month). Apparently that writer had a moment where one of the protagonists says "i don't care what Joanne says, Remus Lupin is queer!" or something like that, i shit you not. xD Can you imagine how deeply online one has to be to go as far as putting that in an actual book and publish it? The only reason we don't find it as strange as the Snapewives is because it doesn't have the same obviously bizarre sexual component (it does have one i think but it's more subtle than "we worship him and have sex on the astral plane"… I so dearly wish we had an escaped ex-stan to tell us about it. The closest i've come to see it was that testimony from that detrans girl who mentioned how roleplaying in her head as Draco and Harry was a big part of why she convinced herself she was trans). Imagine being Jo, undercover on tumblr to work on her next book, and seeing these people be completely possessed by their made-up versions of not just who she is but who those characters - which she made - are. It's all… hers… she literally wrote that story. The bafflement?

Ohh...you're thinking of Red, White & Royal Blue. I haven't personally read the book or watched the netflix movie, but I've seen reviews, and based on those it's mostly popular cause it's a happy gay story, which is kinda sad, I think, how people will latch onto a bad story just cause it's rare to read/watch a happy gay story. Anyway, yeah, I heard of that qoute and like, I agree with you, the fact that it's in a published book is beyond me; then again, plenty trash gets published so lol

Also, you know but I do wonder how much Jo saw when she was doing research on tumblr lmao. Like, if she saw all the Sirius/Lupin, and Snapewives and other insane parts of the fandom, I wonder what went through her head lol

I've been told it's actually (surprisingly) not a Netflix film but a Prime one. I wouldn't feel sad for these reviews. Based on what i've learned it sounds like fujo content at its worst. Also, i know it's not perfectly representative, but it's still a bit telling that none of the gay men i follow have blogged about it.

Re: Jo, she's probably seen worse than you think, she already said once that she was curious enough to check the Mugglenet forum or something like that in the 2000s. She said people behaved like bullies to new accounts who dared to post unpopular theories, which went against everything that's in the books.
