It was a sunny day and while scrolling through your magi phone, you had come across a big tamagotchi sale online.
The shop was doing an Easter discount so all tamagotchis were being sold at half the price.
They had tamagotchi from all series, and as you looked around the online shop, you found quite a lot that suited your taste aesthetically.
However, as they were from different all from different generations, you had trouble deciding which one to get.
Buying all of them would have been too expensive and quite unfair to other people, yet the time passed and you couldn't decide...
Suddenly, a thought crosses your mind.
You remembered there was someone who knew a lot about tamagotchis, someone who could guide you through the different kinds and help you decide.
That is how you ended up in this situation...
Malleus asked in a curious tone.
He wasn't used to people looking for him, especially not to chat.
You weren't sure he would actually come, he has always seemed pretty distant from everyone and you've never seen him talk much.
But for some reason, when you saw him arrive you could feel your heart growing warm and happiness spreading around your chest.
"Yeah! If you have time right now, could you please help me? I have quite a predicament and you're the only person I can ask..."
You giggle nervously, hoping Malleus won't deny you his help.
Malleus looks at you and smiles.
It's a soft and kind smile, though it seems like a practiced one, a polite smile to showcase when interacting with people, rather than a smile from the heart.
"Of course I have time for you.
It's an honor to be able to be of help to you. Just tell me what you need help with and I'll do the best I can to assist you."
You say as you smile at him warmly.
You take out your phone and you show him the online shop.
"I saw that they were doing a tamagotchi sale earlier, and I would love to get one, but sadly I lack the knowledge and I just can't choose which one to get... I was wondering if maybe you could help me choose?
I remember you like tamagotchis, so I thought I could ask you.
I also thought you might be interested, in case you wanted a friend for your tamagotchi... Or maybe, your tamagotchi and the one I'll get can be friends!"
You were talking so easily to Malleus, your initial fear of him seemed so distant now.
At first, you had thought of him as someone cold and scary, his eyes were sharp and he rarely smiled, making you feel nervous around him
But ever since you saw him run around nervously, frantically looking for someone to fix his tamagotchi, doing his best to talk to people he had never spoken to before, you realised that maybe he wasn't a bad person and he just... needed to be understood.
You look at him and your eyes widen in surprise.
You didn't expect him to take your words seriously, rather, you thought he would just politely laugh them off.
Instead, Malleus looked touched, as if your looking for him in this scenario had made him feel accepted and cared for, and your friendship suggestion made him even happier.
"You... remembered that?"
He asked, his voice a faint sound full of joy.
You couldn't help but think that this secret side of him you never thought you'd see was actually...
A soft, warm smile appears on your face as your beaming eyes look at him.
"Of course I did! It's what made me want to be friends with you"
While you did think of him as scary at first, ever since that time he had been on your mind, thought of wanting to be friends and wanting to talk to him occupied your mind night and day.
Malleus was stunned by your sudden confession, it seem that he did not get much attention and care before.
He couldn't believe someone would want to be his friend and would actively look for him.
He smiles once more, but this time his smile feels real, a smile that comes from the heart.
"Haha, I see... Then I shall help you.
Well, if you want my opinion I recommend you get one of the older models of tamagotchi, the connection series are quite good. I would also recommend one of the Tamagotchi P's, they are more complete versions of the original series and are compatible with the original characters."
Malleus had started explaining the differences between the new and old models, as well as their pro's and con's, as you listened to him attentively, nodding in understanding as he spoke.
"Then... Which one would you pick?"
You ask him curiously after his explanation.
He had talked a lot about what beginners would like and be more comfortable with but rather than that... you found yourself wanting to know more about him.
Malleus looks at you confused, then at the screen of your magi phone with the open tab showing the online shop, absorbed in his thoughts.
He seems to be thinking about what the correct answer would be, and what you were expecting him to say.
He seems to have misunderstood your intentions.
Seeing him like this makes you giggle, his behaviour made you think he was extremely precious.
"Let's get matching ones!"
You say happily, clearing up the small misunderstanding.
Malleus seems taken aback by your offer, but soon after his initial surprise, he smiles at you once more.
You've never seen him smile so much, not to someone outside from his usual group, at least.
As your heart skips a beat, you can't help but think that he has a very pretty smile.
"If I were to choose a model for myself I will pick a Tamagotchi On Wonder Garden model, they are fun with different characters and the amount of content and characters available is great.
They also have some interesting exclusive mechanics, would you like to hear about it?"
Malleus asks curiously as he continues to talk about the models, not realizing how much time has already passed since you two started talking.
He gets to excited when he gets to talk to someone with the same hobbies as him.
If only you knew how long he's been waiting for this moment to talk about his hobby to someone... to a friend.
The two of you keep talking and chatting until the sun is about to set.
It's getting late, but you both want to keep on talking more.
Malleus is enjoying your company, the two of you talked for hours about tamagotchis and many other things.
But now it is getting dark and you both have to go back.
Malleud gets shy as he thinks about you.
'I hope we can talk more tomorrow...' he thinks to himself...
He politely thanks you for chatting with him and says his farewell.
He smiles and turns to walk home.
You watch Malleus' back as he leaves to go back to his dormitory.
You get shy as you think about him, thinking to yourself that you want to talk more...
You suddenly shout at Malleus, who has already walked quite a bit and is a few metres away from you now.
Malleus turns to look at you, the physical distance between you two making you unable to see his expression well, as the sun sets behind him.
"Let's talk again tomorrow!"
Malleus waves and you both turn around to go each back to your own dormitory, butterflies flying around happily in your stomach.
Maybe it was just your impression, maybe your eyes were deceiving you, but for a moment... you could swear you saw Malleus blush.
