Despite thursday's suicide bombing (three detonations, 170 civilian deaths, 13 US personnel KIA), evacuation at Kabul Airport carries on: In the past 24 hours, 35 US military flights and 54 coalition flights evacuated 12,500 people from Kabul. 105,000 people have been airlifted from the Afghan capital since August the 14th.

The California National Guard involved in a major rescue in the Central Valley. 

Both a Chinook or CH-47 and a Blackhawk helicopter airlifted individuals trapped by the Creek Fire. The first 50-60 evacuees, some with injuries, have been brought to the Cal Guard army facilities at the Fresno Airport where emergency response, fire and medical elements from the 144th Fighter Wing are on hand to assist.

California National Guardsmen, the Fresno Fire Department, and Fresno County Emergency Medical Services wait for the arrival of a 40th Combat Action Brigade's CH-47 Chinook helicopter carrying evacuees from the Creek Fire last night on the 1106 Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group's flight line outside of Fresno, California. The California Military Department evacuated over 200 people along the Mammoth Pool Reservoir when the Creek fire exploded in size.

The California National Guard is currently involved with a major rescue tonight in the Central Valley. Right now, both a Chinook or CH-47 and a Blackhawk helicopter are airlifting individuals trapped by the Creek Fire. The first 50-60 evacuees, some with injuries, have been brought to the Cal Guard army facilities at the Fresno Airport where emergency response, fire and medical elements from the 144th Fighter Wing are on hand to assist. Both rotary wing aircraft are returning to the fire site to evacuate more people immediately.

Boyle served for 34 years as a U.S. Military Chaplain and was a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan. His last tour of duty was as the Atlantic Area Chaplain for the U.S. Coast Guard.
