A Marine's Marine

On September 3, Marines and Sailors with 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) held a memorial service to honor Sgt. Nicole Gee at Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base, Kuwait. Sgt. Gee, a member of Combat Logistics Battalion 24, was one of 13 service members who were killed in action during non-combatant evacuation operations at Hamid Karzai International Airport, Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.

Despite thursday's suicide bombing (three detonations, 170 civilian deaths, 13 US personnel KIA), evacuation at Kabul Airport carries on: In the past 24 hours, 35 US military flights and 54 coalition flights evacuated 12,500 people from Kabul. 105,000 people have been airlifted from the Afghan capital since August the 14th.

IMC students conduct unknown distance range

IMC is a 14-week pilot course designed to create better trained and more lethal entry-level infantry Marines prepared for near-peer conflicts. The course uses a redesigned learning model for students intended to develop their capabilities for independent and adaptive thought and action. The program of instruction for IMC has been in development for a year and follows guidance from the 2019 Commandant's Planning Guidance and Force Design 2030.
