Irish peace keeps are part of the United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon which is responsible for monitoring the cessation of hostilities, assist the the Lebanese Armed Forces and conduct extensive mobile patrolling.
The Irish Area of Operations is around 140 square kilometer, it extends from Tibnin in Southern Lebanon to the Blue line along the border with Israel.
