Sailors from the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Honor Guard, a trumpeter and drummer from the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band, a color team from the U.S. Coast Guard, and the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Caisson Platoon conduct modified military funeral honors with funeral escort for U.S. Navy Capt. Bruce Boyle in Section 82 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, August 27, 2020.

Boyle served for 34 years as a U.S. Military Chaplain and was a combat veteran who served in Afghanistan. His last tour of duty was as the Atlantic Area Chaplain for the U.S. Coast Guard.

A Sentinel assigned to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, 4th Battalion, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), continues guard after four flags were placed on crypts, at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, during Flags-In, on May 21, 2020. Women from the first all-female honor flight in the United Sates watch a Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, Sept. 22, 2015, in Arlington, Va. There were 75 female veterans from World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War in attendance, as well as 75 escorts, who were also female veterans or active-duty military.

Soldiers from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) have a duty to respectfully honor America's sons and daughters who have lost their lives in defense of this great nation. "Flags In" is a four hour event in which over 1,000 Soldiers from The Old Guard remember Service-members in Arlington National Cemetery, Va. by placing a flag on the over 228,000 headstones in the cemetery. Soldiers in The Old Guard have held this honor and privilege of conducting "Flags In" since 1948.
