Had a great day yesterday! Finished all my homework early and went on a boat to do oceanographic research! Having good thoughts for today to go just as well!! I spent last night making a linguistics trivia Kahoot that I hope the club likes today.

My first two exams went okay. I definitely could have used an extra day or two before chem but I’m glad it’s over with now! My molec final went really well so now I’m just onto the classes that I really need to do well in.

Day 8: when should people start preparing for, decorating, and celebrating Christmas?
I think by dec 1 is perfectly acceptable. As an American, I would say after Thanksgiving is officially go time.
Day 9: what do you usually do during the holidays?
I usually hang out at home and catch up with old friends from high school. I also help wrap Christmas presents with my mom and try to relax. I would also say I get more ambitious with cooking and try new things more during the holidays.

Day 7: how do you stay motivated during winter?
I try to keep what I need to do for sunlight hours cause that is when I’m most productive. I also give myself a lot of free time to relax so I don’t feel guilty about working or that all I do is work.

Yes! After finals I get the rest of the month of December off as well as the first 10 days of January :) then it’s back to college for spring 2021

Day 4: what’s an unpopular opinion that you have about winter?
I don’t think I have one actually. My hottest take is that people don’t drive worse on the holidays, they are just trying to go where you’re going more.
Day 5: are you usually busy during winter?
I would say no. I have finals during it but otherwise I have to keep coming up with things to do to not get bored.

I’ve been waking up really early and being able to get a lot of work done so I’m not upset about it. Currently studying for my biology of fishes exam next week because we have a review today!

I love the use of fireplaces, especially when it gets cold outside (we don’t get snow very often where I live).
Day 3: what is your least favorite thing about winter?
The sun setting at like 5 pm. I need more sunlight to function!

Excited to finally have a break this semester for Thanksgiving, so to celebrate I redid my phone backgrounds for winter/Christmas!

I’ve got a lot of things due today that I didn’t work on yesterday because my computer was updating for two hours. So far I’m not feeling stressed, but I’m very excited for the weekend to be happening. Also today is the first meeting for linguistics club!!

Trying to not get overwhelmed this week so I’ve started a new homework sticky note helper:
- MUST: hard deadline for the next day or most important items that should be prioritized
- SHOULD: homework and items that are due in the next day or two and would be beneficial if I did ahead but can put off for another day if needed
- CAN: assignments and tasks that are on the back burner and are only done if the other two columns are completed and I still have energy
We’ll see how it works out but it was majorly helpful this weekend!

I’ve been super busy trying to get ready for the move to in person classes and staying on top of homework. I feel like I’m getting a little burnt out but I don’t have a stopping point anytime soon :/ But I found out yesterday that I’ll be making Two posters for a biology conference!!
Thing I’m excited and happy about:
- I made kale chips and stuffed shells last night
- I’m making progress in my research
- I have a 570 day streak on Duolingo
- My autumn candles smell wonderful
- I made my Halloween/October movie playlist to get into the Spooky mood

Started classes on Tuesday and now I’m trying to get on top of everything! My textbooks are all in now (so many about fish!!!) and I’m settling into the pace of school again. Things are gonna be interesting though because I’m balancing school, work, and research now; but I’m excited to get this fall going!

Long weekend but happy to be feeling productive this afternoon! Working on my assignment planner for the fall since I start on the 25th. Also made a lot of headway looking into grad schools and programs this weekend which has given me a new burst of excitement for my classes!
