I'm officially announcing that I'm taking a short break from posting as I've recently become obsessed with Lenormand! I'll be spending my time not only learning and using Lenormand but I will also be studying how to enhance my tarot readings with these amazing cards. My inbox and ask me page will still be open however I just won't be making new posts.

Thank you to all you amazing people for keeping me motivated to continue what I do. Be back soon!

Blessed be~

Hi there! I'm super new at reading tarot. So far what I've been doing is drawing a card in the morning for me to reflect upon. It's been really good so far. Yesterday I drew "The World" which was great, but then today I drew... "The World" reversed! I've pondered it a lot and can see, based on the info I've read how it definitely could apply but I'm just curious what a seasoned tarot card reader might think about drawing "The World" on day and "The World" reversed the next. Thank you!!

Do you do your daily card with a specific question or just draw a card? I would say that you have realized your potential in one aspect of life and are ready to move on to the next. The world reversed can urge you to take a look at your shadow for further self development. When one journey ends a new one begins - our journey through life is cyclic. I would take some time to ask yourself where you can grow especially focusing on aspects of yourself that restrict you as well as if you have isolated yourself and need to broaden your world view. We tend to get stuck im our own little worlds. I do encourage you to keep digging. Ask questions and contemplate your answers in different perspectives. You dont need any particular spreads to delve deeper. Just make sure to clearly announce your intent and have clearly defined questions. Hope that helps. If you have any further questions feel free to ask!

TAROT 101: THE RIGHT WAY TO READ TAROT

There is no one true way to read tarot.  No such system exists . However, there is a tried and true way proven to help you learn to read tarot. Study and practice. That’s it. There are no hard and fast rules. No secret formula. No best kept secret.  What might work for one person may not work another, but at the end of the day it is just like anything else you learn how to do. You have to study and practice.

TAROT 101: WHEN TO CLEANSE YOUR TAROT DECK

You don’t need to cleanse your tarot deck often. Tarot decks are kind of like cast iron skillets: they pick up “seasoning” from use. However, this is usually a good thing! By getting more energy into a deck, it’ll give richer readings. It’s often necessary to spend a bit of time “breaking in” a deck through use. If you’re having trouble getting helpful answers from your deck, first try to center yourself, step away from your cards for a bit, and then come back to them when your energy is more stable. If that doesn’t work, then try cleansing the deck. Source: sorceryacademy.tumblr.com

While this spread will not directly identify a deity that is influencing your life or wishing to work with you, it will give a lot of information about the deity, how they are manifesting in your life, and what you can do to begin working together. *Disclaimer* This is a powerful spread. Please do not attempt to use this spread as a Ouija board. Take proper precautions to protect yourself. Be safe

We’re all accustomed to things not always going according to plan. But, what do you do when you find yourself in a position that isn’t at all like you imagined?Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that don’t match what we wanted to be when we “grow up”. Take a look at where you lost your way and what lesson needs to be learned to get you “back on track”

BONDING WITH YOUR TAROT CARDS (FOR BEGINNERS)

While this list in not exhaustive, I will be covering my favorite ways to spend time with and strengthen the bond between me and my Tarot cards.

This is a wonderful place to start for those who are new to reading Tarot!

With that said the best way to build a good relationship with your cards is to simply spend time with them! You don’t have to do a bunch of special ju-ju to get your cards to like you. Tarot is only a tool, the magic resides in you!

**However, many of us do incorporate these things into our spiritual practices. If it feels right, do it. If it doesn't, no big deal it’s just not for you. You can still reap the benefits of Tarot without elaborate rituals and strict rules.

There are plenty of fun things you can do to bond with your cards.

From purification by smoke, bathing in the moonlight, charging with crystals, or clearing excess energy with singing bowls there is no right or wrong way to spend time with your cards.

The following are my personal methods of getting to know and building a working relationship with my Tarot cards.

1. Use Them!

First and foremost, the most simple yet most important way to bond with your cards is to use them! Take them out of the box, look through them, feel them, smell them (yes, smell them. I personally enjoy the old book and nag champa-esque smell of my vintage 1970’s Morgan-Greer Tarot cards…)

2. Examine Your Tarot Cards

I can not stress how important it is to actually use your cards Do readings. Talk to them. One of the first, and most exciting, things I do when I get a new deck is to simply look at them. Take the time to examine each individual card. Sort them by suit and look how each cards story progresses from ace to king.

Take the time to find your favorite, your birth card, and your significator card.

3. Read the LWB

Don’t forget about the little white book! The meanings in the LWB may not align perfectly with your own, but take the time to compare and contrast. See what the artist had in mind when they illustrated each card. You’ll be surprised how this little book can bring a whole new level of insight into your cards.

4. Do A Daily Draw

One of the best ways to use your cards is the daily draw. Simple draw one card a day (doesn’t matter what time of day it is, just do it!)and reflect upon it.

Whether its looking for the cards theme throughout your day, relating to experiences through the day, or my favorite simply asking for advice or clarity regarding your day.

5. Get To Know Each Other

In the same vein as using your cards is interviewing a new deck. This is so important!. It will reveal your deck’s strengths, weaknesses, and what type of readings your cards are best used for.  Also, why should you always be the one asking a question? Ask your cards how they’re feeling once and awhile. You’ll be surprised what they have to say!

6. Journaling

Keep a journal of your daily draws and spread results. You’ll be surprised how much and how quickly you’ll make progress as a Tarot reader by simply writing it down. This is a magical place where you can store your own personal experiences with the Tarot as well as your personal meanings for each card.

Building a relationship with a deck of cards may seem silly at first, but trust me like any relationship the more you put into it the more you’ll get out of it. Tarot, after all, is a give and take relationship. So, don’t be greedy!
