Meet Tiff Callister
Her name, Tiff is based on Addison naming conventions, as per Spamton’s insistence, but close enough to sounding like a traditional Lightner name that Ephie didn’t think she would get bullied for it, reasoning that she could just say Tiff was short for Tiffany or something!! She never did have a problem with being bullied for her name, as it turns out!
In that line of thought, growing up, while definitely strange in many ways, both in terms of personality and heritage, Tiff never failed to make and keep friends, being a very likeable little girl!
Admittedly, she is quite odd, always has been. She likes history and math and frogs and other things many little girls are taught to dislike. Her parents, Ephie and Spamton, always encouraged her interests, knowing it pointless and cruel to squander a child’s passions, even if they didn’t necessarily understand said interests!
Other info:
- Spamton’s nickname for her is Sunshine; when he first arrived in the Light World, he was struck by the beauty and heavenly light of the Sun and he felt the same way upon meeting Tiff for the first time, suffice it to say, the association stuck
- Ephie loves geeking out about different animals with Tiff, having always loved animals, themself (the two discuss things like the taxonomy of amphibious organisms and Spamton listens and nods enthusiastically, despite understanding nothing of it)
- when they first had Tiff, Spamton knew he wanted to be a dad, but Ephie wasn’t sure what Tiff would call them; thankfully, Tiff kinda settled if for them when she started calling them ‘Moddy’, a word she came up with upon hearing that Ephie was like her mom and another dad!!
- once older, Tiff abandoned ‘Moddy’ (at least in public) in favor of ‘Mod’ in reference to their nonbinary parent, a play on multiple things
-Mod, like a moderator of an online chatroom, the big boss, as it were
-Mod, like a combination of mom and dad; doubling as a shortened version of her formative name for Ephie
- when Tiff first arrived, Ephie had just started a position as an astronomer at an important company, taking up a lot of their time; Spamton quit his job as a teacher at the School and became a stay at home dad
- as Tiff got older, Spamton reignited his passion for sales, with more success this time, kickstarting an auto repair company in the Light World, leaving Tiff alone much of the day when not at school
- on days where neither of her parents could be home for her after school, Kris, much older now, agreed to babysit her
- Kris, admittedly has a long and complicated relationship with the Callister couple (I mean, Spamton DID try to take their SOUL once lol) but absolutely adores Tiff and Tiff sees Kris as a very cool older sibling
- speaking of SOULs, Tiff has an orange SOUL of bravery,,
