I am an Angel of the Lord who probably would do well in finance, and I don't like to do what people expect.
Thirty-four. White USian. Autistic, anxious depressive (with PTSD). Nonbinary/genderqueer (demigirl). She/they pronouns. Sex-indifferent pan gay greyromantic demisexual. INFP/ISFP. Survivor. Socialist. Feminist. Relativist. Agnostic atheist. Struggling college student (yes, still).
Honest misanthrope (because humans are works of art but humanity is tainted by its hatreds, conceits, and deceits), almost never neutral (because the status quo isn't), and unapologetic slasher 'til death do I stop.
I am things, I question things, I like things, I hate things, I watch things, I read things, I writethings, I say things, I do things. Things happen on this blog.
I was wondering where the is it queerbaiting if the show ends without canon destiel was coming from and I found it: "And honestly, even if Dean and Cas never do the do, and Dean is never outed as bi, I still probably won’t call it queerbaitiecause that subtext that you’re dismissing is real and it’s important. It’s not representation, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the butt of a joke, and it sure as hell doesn’t make it queerbaiting" What. "its not representation" THATS! THE QUEERBAITING OMFGG
Jesus Christ. I just. JESUS CHRIST. THE SUBTEXT KEPT AMBIGUOUS SO HOMOPHOBES, ESPECIALLY STRAIGHT PEOPLE, CAN’T SEE IT IS FUCKING QUEERBAITING, EAT SHIT YOU IGNORAMUS.
Anonymous said:December 10th 2014, 5:38:00 am · 11 days agoI theink tptb of spn don´t consider themselves queerbaiting since they just assume everybody knows they´re just jiking and it will never actually happen. Take this quote of Misha f.e. (it´s from “fan phenomena: supernatural” ): “But I don´t like the characterization of teasing around destiel or around any kind of homoerotic subtext that might appear around the brothers as queer baiting. I think that that´s really unfair”. Misha puts destiel and wincest on the same level, both just for laughs...
Jesus Christ some more because that is bullshit, Misha. And once upon a time, you knew that, I know you did. Whether you knew the word for it or not, you knew that ‘baiting Dean and Cas with gay subtext didn’t mean the same shit as making gay jokes between brothers.
Eric Kripke [from the Lucifer Rising commentary]: I think she brought such complicated colors to the part of Ruby. You fans out there, I love you very much but you are brutal with some of our guest cast and you guys have been very hard on poor Genevieve. And for my money, I think she’s been doing wonderful work. I think you see that there’s feelings about Sam buried in there and mystery about what side of the fence she really stands on and moments of loneliness, and humanity buried in her… demonism. Anyway, she brings a lot to the role and I’ve been really thrilled with what she’s done. And I’m very proud of her and we’re gonna miss her terribly.
hi you :( im in a bad place rn i hope its ok to talk to you about it. idk why but im suddenly so afraid spn will end with dean and cas apart. not even destiel related but simply not allowed to be together even as friends. but cas in heaven or dead or anything like that. i just asked another blog about that possibility and now i worked myself up about it so bad, i cant even stop watcing cause unless i cancel the inet i will always find out what happed in the end :(((
Of course, sweet pea. I’m always up for talking about anxieties. I have many of my own and yeah, it helps to talk them out, ime. Plus, your anxiety, in this case, is totally validated by the nature of serialized television and gaslighting PR and queerbaiting; don’t let anybody tell you differently.
I will admit, I don’t normally worry about that, but I can’t actually give you reasons not to that amount to much more than “that would be a terrible decision for a bunch of financial and story-related reasons” to ease your mind? I’m sorry, if that’s why you came to me. :c
I know how hard this is. I’ve thought before of doing the same thing, but yeah, it’s hard to get away from it, isn’t it? And if you’re attached? Harder.
If you tell me exactly what you’re worried about, I might be able to talk you out of it? But it’s not like you’re not very justified in this worry; Supernatural is exceptionally unpredictable in terrible decisions, even ones that seem completely unthinkable. And I wouldn’t want to do all that and make you feel all weird about it if you’re aware that your worry will pass?

I do think as it stands nothing on the show currently points towards that horrible endgame scenarios that I made up in my mind right now. but like you said shitty pulled out of your ass descision can always occur. I was primarly thinking about Sam and Dean being alive in the end and then thinking that the writers will feel the need to have their series finale somehow Big Tragic and Epic and Sam and Dean are protected from that due to their Protagonist status and Cas will get all the shit

like maybe the writers will feel pressured becasue their show always so dark that they’ll face criticism if all the main heroes will get a happily ever after that it’s going to be to “easy” and “cliche” and they’ll throw in Cas death/sacrifize for the sake of pure drama because he has the shortest end of the stick of the three
That’s a completely understandable anxiety to have. And it’s consistently reinforced by the “show’s about two brothers” propaganda and all the gaslighting—as I said—of the PR. Not to mention the meta machine that is this fandom. I get you, sweet pea, I get you. It’s hard.
If it helps? Misha is amazing and TPTB seem to very much know that? He’s a PR GOD, he’s a fantastic media generator, and he’s probably the most popular character of all time from that show, despite the “two brothers” crap. Certainly indisputably the most popular side character/third protagonist. It’s unlikely that they won’t milk Misha until the last drop, aka the last episode. But yeah, it’s…it’s still up in the air whether that’ll mean a happy ending for Cas until we get through this terrible indecision time going on in canon and there’s a clear path toward the endgame.

If Sam and Dean will be allowed to have a happy ending I dont see it possible that Cas will somewhat die in the series finale. You can't make one of the most important people of the narrators life die and five minutes later "yay :) happy end" it would taint it. Well you can, ala #how i met your mother (mother who?! what death lol that was years ago lmao who cares about my wife lolol) and then unleash hell from fans and critics alike so have fun spn maybe we'd get an alternative ending then too
I completely agree with that, honestly. I still say the anxieties are valid and fed to their limit by the way the media machine works, but. Yeah. Agreed on this. Good thinking. (I hope this helps, sweet pea anon.)
Re. your response to the episode - it's mystifying me somewhat that all these fans saw the same episode and some are saying "I feel disrespected, patronized, and gaslighted" and others are saying "I feel respected and validated". I almost wonder if there's some degree of people seeing what they expected to see, or discounting evidence that goes against what they wanted to see. (1/2)

(2/2) What I saw - and this is what I wanted to see, admittedly - about Dean/Cas subtext was two things. Dean reacted to Wincest and Destiel differently - he said to Marie, “You know they’re brothers, right?”, but he didn’t say anything like “Cas and Dean are just friends” and his response to Sam’s teasing was “we’re not talking about this”, not “how could you think that”. And then when he was giving the speech, he implicitly included “the sub in that text” as part of the writer’s vision.
Well, like I said, an episode that tried to pay homage to this many of us was bound to confuse some of us.
And the thing that really challenges this is that they kept in Jensen’s break in character just to express his audience-directed unimpressed reaction?

hey i saw some people discuss that meg may come back? do u know st about that?
/SCREAMS WITH HORROR.
No, I don’t.
(But if they’re gonna bring back a demon, it better be Ruby, cos Meg had been defanged and stuffed into a generically womanized box and died the way she was always gonna [as a plot device/no homo/Crowley’s victim] after they did that to her, but Ruby’s story was far from over.)

people dont wanna admit jensens homophobic so they dont have to admit their own and the rest dont wann admit that their rps with him arent happening
Amen.
(Though I will say, he sometimes seems his least homophobic around Misha Collins. That’s not to say I ship it [and I try really hard not to]: just that it’s understandable that people think it could be a thing despite Jensen’s homophobia.)
Anonymous said:November 13th 2014, 3:43:00 pm · 8 hours ago
lmao actually im just waiting for jensen to say something dismiss about destiel again. just like he always does whenevrer something relative big happens. cas comes back? “gay and unmaly scene we were all laughing”. dean/aaron? “straight guy being made uncomfortable” season nine hes in love etc? “we dont play it that way!!!”. just preparing myself for what he says and does next
Ditto, tbh, like, I don’t really care in the sense of thinking he’s gonna affect the text, most of the time, cos I do think he’s a professional, but like? He’s such a fucking homophobe, man. A biphobe. A queerphobe in general. And no matter what his gross phobic opinions don’t do to the story, they keep showing he’s a total asshole.
Mainly my worry in that Ask about his face in this is that it was allowed to stay there. That Robbie thought it was funny. That’s upsetting to me.
That’s not true. He said this in a 100% joking way. He doesn’t have a clue what the writers are going to do with demon Dean (which he also said later on). He even said that he doesn’t know yet how he’s gonna play him because he doesn’t know the specifics. This is actually completely taken out of context.
(girl asking how cas will feel about dean being a demon) “I don’t know if cas has a demon fetish if that’s what you’re saying”
(crowd saying they all wanted demon dean) “You all wanted it? What’s wrong with you people?! I was devastated when I read that script!”
(girl says she thinks cas will get desperate to help dean) “So cas gets desperate…desperately horny..”
