Barney fucking Stinson.

I'm recalling all the debates I've had about awful female characters

(especially serial rapists and abusers)

and thinking about that post going around saying "we can't treat them like people, we're too busy defending their right to exist"

(which admittedly I don't entirely agree is the right course of action at all)

and despite all those debates, all the times they and their stans have triggered me, I've never argued they don't have a right to exist, because I don't think that. I've never thought that about any character before.

But you know who I do think that about?
