"Don’t let that go. Okay? You’ll never forgive yourself”
Garth giving one of the most accurate descriptions of Dean Winchester that I’ve ever heard. (via omgdean)
Garth going on about how he was embarrassed/ashamed, and wanted so badly to be back with his friends…seeing exactly what DJ Qualls meant about Garth being a mirror for Dean.
Season 8: Dean + hugs
Here Garth repeats the same lie Dean’s been telling himself for six years: “Me and Sam, we’re all we have.” Except now it sort of rings hollow, doesn’t it? Because this season has been all about proving just how wrong this belief really is.
Dean and Sam have lost their mother, their father, their adopted father, their grandfather and the rest of their mother’s relatives, most of their childhood friends, their angel allies, their demon allies, and of course Dean’s angel BFF-with-a-side-order-of-profound-bond… and yet somehow, now more than ever, Sam and Dean feel more independent than they ever have before.
Sam has Amelia, Riot, a simple life as a handyman and a homeowner. Dean has Cas, Benny, the Hunt, and of course the Impala, the home he built with his own two hands. They both have Kevin, Garth, Charlie, Martin, Jody (WHAT I HOLD OUT HOPE OK). So it’s not true anymore — they do have more than just each other. They have individual dreams, friends, goals, motivations. They have independent lives, or the beginnings of such at least.
And that’s just what I’ve wanted for them all along.
