#Buffy Summers#Buffy and Xander#3x02 Dead Man's Party#Xander Harris#and his notorious lack of understanding of the female perspective and especially the MENTALLY ILL FEMALE PERSPECTIVE#His victim blaming sexist bullshit that continues throughout the goddamn show#With the complex (NOT ABUSIVE) situation with Angel#With Riley's abuse...and Spike's abuse...#With Buffy's depression and PTSD and dissociation and possible counterdependency?#You don't even want to know how many times I've said 'Shut up Xander' and 'I fucking hate you Xander' while watching this show#And let's just unpack this real quick okay#What Xander is actually talking about...#...is Buffy killing her lover after he was her lover again in order to save the world.#Like that's what he's talking about. She the girl who fears she's not allowed to have anything normal or good in her life.#She was in love. And fucking him...giving HIM happiness...broke a curse that turned him into a monster who terrorized her.#Who wanted to destroy the fucking world just for kicks and greatness.#And she had to fucking kill this person who looks exactly like her lover but treats her like shit just enough to make ending him bearable.#But Xander didn't fucking tell her that Angel could come back so she didn't know she had to stall Angelus opening the portal.#And she had to KILL THE LOVE OF HER LIFE TO SAVE THE WORLD. After her mother disowned her and she got expelled when her friend died.#HOW'S THAT FOR TRAUMA SO BAD YOU HAVE TO GET AWAY AND RECOVER BECAUSE NO ONE WILL EVER UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH PAIN YOU'RE IN#I hate Xander.#Her mother told her if she left the house to save the world she couldn't come back. She was expelled cos people said she killed her friend.#And to top it all off she didn't get to kill her enemy. She had to kill her fucking lover.
