I swear translation is ruining a lot of manga experience… (no hate or offense towards to any translators btw! I just wish I could read everything in Japanese and understand the meaning behind it)
So because I was watching gintama according to an excel sheet (I know it’s weird) but the person recommended to watch Love Potion arc and Season 9 Before all the serious arcs, so as a gintsu fan, yes I jumped to love potion arc, I have no shame lmao and I couldn’t wait, whatever I’m satisfied ╮(╯▽╰)╭
And of course I’m so in love with the last scene, which is this:
When Tsukuyo said “whether it’s spring or winter, once in a while I like just being next to you like this, and blowing poison gas in your face, that’s enough to make me happy.”

And when Gintoki said “Even normally, I’m constantly inhaling some idiots second hand’s smoke” so when you read English, you can interpret he’s referring to anyone who smoke around him, right?
But NOOOO, I read it in one of the comments and
He said “むせるのはどつかのバカが巻き散らす煙管の煙だけで充分だ”
I’m not professional in Japanese, but I saw someone translate to
“I'm sick of it, falling in love, falling out of love, incense & smoke. Just choking on the only poisonous smoke of one idiot's kiseru is enough for me”
He’s referring to Tsukuyo!!!!!! (He specify the pipe) Her smoke is enough for him to choke

At this point, I don’t really care if they are canon anymore, it’s fun when something is left to be undecided because there are always lots of imagination

Oh man, I remember I was so crazy when I found this out that Sorachi decided to change some dialogues! Yes, dialogues!!
Sorachi put alot of effort in his manga so there are comic releases that he made some corrections, even illustration panels in Red Spider Arc. While for Love Potion Arc, here, the first one was written like this: "ただでさえこっちはいっつもどっかのバカに副流煙まき散らされてんだからよォ" "Just choking on some idiot's secondhand smoke is enough for me"
Then he changed it for obvious reasons, that I think, the arc is dedicated for Gintoki and Tsukuyo and most readers tend to misinterpret things due to shipping reasons so he made it specific to Tsukuyo. Sorachi isn't so subtle about this hehe.

Tsukuyo grapples with insecurities about her ability to be a good mom to their 8-year-old twins, while Gintoki stands by her as a supportive husband amid a storm. This story was written for the Smoke and Seasons gintsu event of 2024!

tbh i don't like gintsu they're an extremely harmless 'big' m/f as far as shounen m/fs go like they're Fine i enjoy that they have actual thematic writing but i'm just completely apathetic to them otherwise. because on top of the obvious they're not funny so what's the point .
It is not like people are forcing them to like gintsu but somehow they just go out post something like did they even try to understand it other than thinking it is the typical shounen ships when clearly we do not see gintsu like that or at least for me and the ones I know for the fandom for so long. They have a lot of dynamics and Gintoki's past revealed in her backstory, teaching Gintoki a lesson for the future about his sensei. Making the encounter in RS arc, personal for him. And the same fate about their sensei. Gintoki respects her alot and even Tsukuyo see how a wild beast he is, was still inlove w/him.
