Hi! Do you have a link to your self published book so folks can check it out? Sorry if you've already shared this before! I'm new here!

I haven't gotten a genuine ask in forever, so this was a joy to receive! I also love people asking where to buy my books. They are on Amazon. Here is a link (I hope!):

Hello! Are you considering writing a second part to Early Leaf's a Flower? I was rereading it the other day and noticed that was your original plan. :)

Nonny, I am so sorry that this sat in my inbox for waaaay too long! I smiled happily when I read it, but I didn't have time to answer, then I just . . . forgot about it. Tumblr weirdly alerted me that I had a new message when I didn't, or this may have collected dust until the end of time, lol. (That's how rarely I get asks.)

Anyhoo, the answer is yes, I am still considering a second part. I even started it ages ago, but it's sort of stalled out. Believe me, it's still on my list of projects. I'm kinda doing a Marie Kondo "whatever sparks joy" type of thing with my writing at the moment, so I'm not making myself write or *gasp* even finish things unless I really, really want to.

That doesn't mean, however, that I'm not happy about your ask. Quite the opposite. This ask makes me absolutely giddy. First of all, you actually read "Early Leaf's a Flower" which I adore and am insanely proud of even though it didn't get much love. Second, you RE-read it which is one of the absolute highest compliments a writer can get. Third, you liked it enough to want part two. Overall, this ask had me like:

So thank you so much!!

Just came up with a great fic prompt! So I showed my aunt The Greatest Showman, and once we got to Rewrite the Stars, I thought of Lieutenant Duckling only the genders reversed (meaning Emma is Philip and Killian is Anne). Thoughts?

The Greatest Showman is one of my absolute favorite movies! I think you should definitely write this - I am intrigued to see where you would go with it. I actually had an idea for a fic years ago that has sat untouched in my writing journal. It came to me when I took my youngest, Ian, to see the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey circus on their last tour. I understand the problems using animals in a circus, but it was sad to me thinking of the acrobats, trapeze artists, etc. having to say goodbye to their craft. It's the end of an era. So I thought about putting the cast of Once in a failing circus on their final tour. (Sans the performing animals.)

I had also just finished reading The Ringmaster's Wife at that time which had a tall, dark, and handsome Irishman named Colin in it, which I think also had something to do with that idea. 😉

Hi! I was wondering if you still had Someone to Watch Over Me. I couldn’t find it on AO3. :)

Thanks for the ask! I chose to re-write Someone to Watch Over Me for the Captain Swan Re-write-a-thon awhile back. It is now the fic The Early Leaf's a Flower. I did a massive re-haul of the story, but it still has Emma and Killian falling in love as they grow up and visit one another via the wardrobe. It actually has more of that. I think it's a much better story than the original, and I hope you do too!

I just miss you lady! I hope you are well.

Thank you, my friend! I actually am doing very well. Pulling back from many aspects of social media to just enjoy my writing again has been an extremely healthy decision for me. I also feel I'm at a healthier place mentally and emotionally now that I have given up the writing advice "write everyday." We took a two week break from homeschool at the end of February, and I decided to give myself a complete vacation. The first week my sister took me and my youngest to Disney World, and I just enjoyed the trip. Full stop. Then when we got back, I took that week to relax, read, hang out with my kids, take the dog to the dog park. In the past, I would have felt the need to "use that free time" to "get some writing done." Then the week after that two week break, I finished two chapters on my novel and wrote a brand new one shot!

Sorry Alma for hijacking your sweet hello, but I just thought someone might need to hear this. I am now a firm believer that "write everyday" is bad writing advice. So take care of yourselves, everyone, and I promise I haven't left the fandom or disappeared completely! I've still got stuff brewing :)

For the End of Year Book Ask game, would you answer #4, 5, 11 & 17?

Avatar

#4 Did I discover any new authors that I love this year? Yes! I started reading Tracie Peterson's books this year and love them. She's been around a long time, I just have never read anything by her. The library has several shelves of her novels, so this discovery will keep me busy for awhile!

#5 What genre did I read the most of? Aside from the obvious - romance - looking at my list, I read more historical fiction than anything else. That's kind of interesting because that was my favorite genre from like age ten when I got my American Girl doll until the end of college. Then I got away from historical fiction and started leaning towards fantasy and YA dystopian lit. Now I'm burned out on the fantasy/dystopian and am back full circle into historical fiction again! I think the pandemic has made me yearn for simpler times. And has definitely turned me OFF of dystopian lit!

#11 What was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read? Relating back to #4, I started Tracie Peterson's Land of the Lone Stars series which came out in 2012. It's set in a time period you don't see that often - immediately after the end of the American Civil War. It really captures the tensions that were still there in the post war years and how precarious peace was (and how it didn't bring equality to African Americans even though slavery ended). In the midst of all that are amazing romances, in the first two books between southern women and union soldiers.

#17 Did any books surprise you with how good they were? Yes! My sister recommended Nancy Werlin's Impossible, which is a story of a modern day teenage girl under an ancient fairy curse. The curse involves the girl, Lucy, being raped in a supernatural way and getting pregnant. For that premise, I wasn't sure I would like it at all. However, it blew me away! (I should have known, my sister has never steered me wrong!) The rape is actually handled extremely well - much better than it usually is in fiction. It wasn't just a plot device to get her pregnant, and continued to have repercussions throughout the story. Mostly, though, the love story took me by surprise. It was epic, sweeping kind of stuff. Just SO good. I was really impressed by how the story felt so realistic yet also fantastical at the same time, if that makes any sense. I think it was the only fantasy I read this year. I also almost picked this for #11 because it came out in 2008.

Thanks for these questions @snowbellewells !

Hey. Just saw your update. We may not NEED to know, but we all WANT to know how you and your family are doing. Your are stronger than you know. And we are here for you to vent all the word vomit you want 💕 Hugs for you and your little one. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts.

This means so much!! I always have a little bit of "did I just say all of that online?" moment after posting stuff like that. I'm always paranoid too as coming across as a whiny person. Anyways, this ask was just such a wonderful encouragement.

Hello! I didn't know who else to ask, and I don't know if you can help me. I'm looking for a fanfiction (for Captain Swan) where Killian is the host of a radio station and Henry calls and wants to find his mother a boyfriend. Killian thinks it's silly, until, of course, he meets Emma. She settles on someone (Graham?) but she really wants Killian too. I think it's a one shot. Do you know where I can find it? Thanks!

I've read this one and it is so cute! Unfortunately, I'm horrible at remembering titles and authors. Can anyone else help this nonny out? @kmomof4 ?

Hiiii ! I was wondering if you could tag me in all of your stories?? I love reading them and I wouldn’t want to miss any ♥️

Sorry this sat in my inbox so long - real life has just been in the way 😆 I absolutely will tag you in the future, no problem! I'm so happy you enjoy my words 😊 Said words haven't been coming lately, though my next chapter of I Promise to Kiss You (Before You Die) is slowly taking shape. I'll tag you when I post ❤️

I'm indian and i actually am unaware about christians/Islam being tortured to renounce their religion. Can u please include the source bcause i have friends of all religions and even caste and this incidents are unheared of here, I've only known of hindu state in op-eds and bcause we have cases of like the recent murder of nikita tomar, shah-bano case, the exodus of kashmiri pandits, etc it's difficult to have a single narrative that can be considered as true

Sadly, religious persecution is woefully under-reported by the media worldwide. Here are some sources for you :

This one focuses on Muslims and Dalits:

I also asked my friend from India just the other day how her family was doing, and she told me that the news media were recently in essence taken over by the government. Either report what the government wants, or you lose your job.

I pray you and all your friends stay safe and well! ❤️

Hello! Can you help me find a CS one shot? I saw it in my dash and I meant to save it for later but didn’t. It’s an EF AU where Killian is drawing the scenery from the docks, I think he’s still a slave or sailor under someone else, not in the navy. And a woman (prob Emma) comes upon him and asks if he’s really been to all the places that he’s drawn in his sketchbook. Do you know which doc I’m talking about?

I wish I could help, but this isn't ringing any bells. Can anyone else help a girl out?

@kmomof4 is a voracious fic reader - maybe she knows this one?

will you be updating start of time again?

It'll be here soon enough! I have been working on the next chapter, but my kids also keep me plenty busy - especially during the current pandemic. Everyone needs a little more distracting. And my husband working from home has been an adjustment. I'm sure you understand. Thank you so much for your patience!

since you're doing CSRT, does that mean your other stories like Convenient Groom and Start of Time will be going on hiatus?

No, not at all! My CSRT is already completed, so posting it won't interfere with any of my WIPs.

ooh, I like this one

Username: profdanglaisstuff (profdanglais on AO3) (It means ‘English teacher’ in French, which basically encapsulates me)

Fandoms you write for: only OUAT, though I’ve been thinking about making an attempt at Good Omens. We’ll see.

Where you post: Tumblr and AO3. I haaaate FFN’s interface, it put me off fanfic for years.

Most popular one-shot: Um. *consults AO3 stats* Going by kudos alone it’s a tie between A Dream Together and Honeysuckle. Hits to kudos ratio has Honeysuckle as a clear winner. So it depends on whether you’re a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw I guess. (Ravenclaw here, so it’s Honeysuckle FTW).

Most popular multi-chapter story: Raised With the Fume of Sighs is the clear winner here, no matter your House.

Favorite story you’ve written: Their Way By Moonlight. Though The Very Witching Time is a close second. I got so deep into that story that when I finished it I actually had withdrawal symptoms, I missed it so much. Apparently that’s not an uncommon thing, lol.

Story you were nervous to post: Osaka-shi Serenade, because it’s so personal.

How do you choose titles: Usually I google quotes on a topic related to the story’s main theme then choose one that sounds good. Sometimes it’s an oblique song or movie reference. I’m not great at titles.

Do you outline: yes? kind of? I try? I completely flew by the seat of my pants until Their Way By Moonlight because I needed to have a plan for that, and it STILL ended up going in ways I didn’t expect, so…

How many of your stories are complete: 23, according to AO3

How many of your stories are in progress: Realistically, 3. The ones I am definitely going to finish.

Coming soon: A silly drabble that will drop tonight, then a return to The Very Witching Time verse with a little bit of puppy!Liam for @cspupstravaganza

Do you accept prompts: People are free to send them to me, but I make no promises about actually writing them.

Upcoming story you’re most excited to write: I’m in the middle of a couple of birthday fics for some BRILLIANT people that I think are going to turn out well.
