Is the Star Wars spam over? NOPE! I'm still not over TLJ and can't wait to see it again 🙌 So have another side by side, this time for my Jyn Erso cosplay. This is probably among my favourite cosplays I did this year, all of the detail work on her vest was such a challenge but incredibly rewarding in the end 😊 Jyn Erso cosplay made and worn by me, editing by me as well.
"If we can make it to the ground, we'll take the next chance. And the next. On and on until we win... or the chances are spent.“
I haven’t shared the first edited pictures from my Jyn Erso photoshoot last month on here, so let’s fix that. I’m incredibly proud of how this whole cosplay turned out, since there were so many things that didn’t work out and I really struggled with for a long time. But it was a great learning experience and taught me a lot about how to keep motivating myself, even when I was almost ready to give up.

Started looking through all of the pictures from today and my god... Color me excited 😃 Can't wait to start editing! 😄
That is a wrap on today's photoshoot at the beach 🙌 Jyn out!
Jyn Erso has touched down on the shores of Scarif and is about to steal your Death Star plans!
I'm very close to questioning my life choices right now... This is going to take ages 🙈
Absolutely thrilled with how Jyn's vest is turning out 🙌😄
The basting thread holding the batting in place will have to be removed but so far it's looking rather good 😊
Mapped out where my tie-quilting is going to be on the back of Jyn's vest. Now let's get to work 😊
Jyn vest progress! The lining is still turned inside out from stitching on the webbing pieces. This is probably the most complicated part of the cosplay so I'm surprised about how smooth this has been going so far 😄
Yay, the front pieces are done! Only need to topstitch the front facings and the collar now...
Welcome to topstitch-hell! 😅 These first lines took me almost an hour as my sewing machine absolutely hates the thread I'm using so I have to go veeery slowly in order to get her to cooperate... But I'm loving the texture so far, so it will be worth it 😊
Soaking the Alice webbing for Jyn's vest in water before dyeing, as it will take the dye much better that way 😊
I wasn't kidding when I said that I couldn't wait to get back to working on cosplay after my finals ^^ I haven't made much progress with Jyn as of late as Picnic Padme kind of took over my life for the last couple of months 😅 But there's an August deadline for this cosplay so you can probably imagine how pleased I was when I finished Jyn's tunic today! This piece - especially the collar *shakes fist* - has been fighting me for what seems like forever so I still can't quite believe how well it turned out in the end 😄
The boot flaps for Jyn have been wet-molded to follow the shape of my boots...
Well, this took forever... Three more to go 🙈
The stitch holes have been punched trough the upper leather layer for Jyn's boot covers. Next I'll be topstitching them by hand 😊
