I can’t believe 2017 is almost over… Time really flew so fast these past few months! Let’s look back at all of the cosplays I did this year :)
When I put this together I was surprised at just how many cosplays I made. Finally all of my Harley Quinn costumes were completed or are close to being done. I also tackled my first two Padme costumes this year, one of them being one of my absolute dream cosplays. I’m so incredibly happy with how they turned out, especially the dye job on my Lake dress and all of the embroidery for the Picnic gown, which took the better part of three months. Jyn Erso is another project that I absolutely love and the absolute dream that was the photoshoot at the beach was just the cherry on top. Working on and shooting the Classic Leia dress was my tribute to our space mom Carrie Fisher. I still can’t believe she is no longer with us and seeing her in TLJ was incredibly emotional for me. My Jakku Rey was already almost done last year, but now it is complete with the staff and pouch. The Resistance Rey cosplay on the other hand was done during the latter half of 2017, with the vest and gauntlets being made three days before The Last Jedi came out in cinemas. With the series finale of the first tv show I fell in love with and the return of one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, I did my very first Katherine Pierce shoot and took advantage of my collection of screen accurate clothing of hers — and it certainly won’t be the last! Last but definitely not least, I finally watched Stranger Things for the first time earlier in the year (yeah, I know, I was super late to the party) and absolutely loved the plot, the charaters, the music… which led me directly to cosplaying Eleven and Nancy Wheeler. These costumes were a fun combination of stuff I made completely from scratch and things I modified slightly. The photoshoot with my lovely friends was also really fun.
