DSOD…Kaiba using the cube…already having magic sealed in his blood because of his soul being a reincarnated priest that became Pharoah after Atem gave himself to seal Zorc…and having the lady he loved in his past life sealed to his soul in her dragon spirit form.

Kaiba has a lot of reasons as to why he doesn’t age. Genetic coding is one thing, but the fact that he has magic running in his veins & used it in DSOD to fuck with time & space itself to get to the dimension of the dead is something else. The fact that he comes back alive should be enough to say that he’s not human at all. Since this is Kaiba though, when is anything normal with him?!

His mind is his strongest asset & this panel says it too! “Above human limits” means he isn’t normal…he’s superhuman & stronger than anybody should ever be by the standards. Mokuba is rightfully scared of what Seto is truly capable of…everyone is…but there’s no denying that he is breaking every limit to show that we are more than what society wants us to believe.

All of this pretty much true although I don’t know where 45??? comes from GX takes place like at most I’d say 7-10 years later

Yugi and Bakura doing a podcast together and sometimes Atem or Yami Bakura will guest but since the voices are the same with different mannerisms the entire audience thinks its just one of them doing a bit

Episode 32: Yugi and Yami Bakura review indie horror tabletop rpg Mork Borg. He has promised to behave himself and not only does so but displays a lot of delightful showmanship while he explains lore and mechanics designed to inflict apocalyptic despair. Bakura’s “character” is brought back by popular demand for games like Call of Cthulhu. 

Episode 74: Atem and Yami Bakura review Settlers of Catan. Reverts back to Yugi and Bakura halfway through in order to prevent a fistfight.

Episode 75: Ryou Bakura is sick. Yugi and Seto Kaiba review the latest Duel Monsters release, which partway through becomes a lengthy diatribe from Kaiba about how Pegasus made this one spell card specifically to piss him off. Yugi bans any further episodes on DM lest it take over the show.

It’s Season 4 and Kaiba Has Completely Run Out of Fucks: A Compilation

what if yugioh had stayed as the horror manga kazuki takahashi originally intended to write - Notes: Shadow games referenced are from: 1. Ch. 1 of the manga/E1 of S0 - “Money and Knife” 2. Ch. 4 of the manga/E2 of S0 - “Escaped Prisoner” 3. Ch. 8 of the manga  - “Poison Man”

Throwing hands with Yami Yugi/Atem in seasons 1 through 4 is always a Mistake since he doesn’t just convincingly beat you in card games. Most people know that Season 0 the Spirit of the Millenium Puzzle would kill you with a soda machine for fucking up his order at Burger King, but in the revised manga Yami has to read you to absolute filth every turn of the game while he is destroying you. He will act shocked and surprised just to flip over a facedown card and start talking about how desolate your outfit is. 

Yami Yugi beats on people thematically. Better hope your character arc is just “generic villain,” because the worst that happens to you is that you catch a trading card body and get sent to the Shadow Realm. If there is anything remotely memorable about you he will stall out the duel just to drag you for it. Does your deck draw a lot of cards? Tough shit, now you draw all of the cards until you die from it. Did you kick a dog on the way to the match? He summons Houndstorr, Master of all Dogs and kills you with his spell card “Feet of Fury.” If you talk badly about a trading card he takes control of it and has it specifically finish you off. Are you carnival magic themed? His Dark Magician clowns you with parlor tricks and he kills you with hats. 

He fought a dude named Panik whose whole deal was scaring people and he spent the entire duel bullying him and talking about what a punk he was while Panik actively tried to kill him with flamethrowers. At the end of the duel he shot a turtle at his castle, made a joke about him being a coward, and sent him to the Shadow Realm. Weevil Underwood spent 4 seasons being a dickhead with a bug-themed deck, cheating whenever he could, but Yami would just make jokes about killing bugs the whole time and then beat him with whatever insect he slipped in his drink while they were at the Yu-gi-oh-dega. Yami Yugi has exactly two emotions- friendship, and tone-appropriate vengeance.

Did you do something actually bad, like turn his friends into rocks and try to possess his body while being a child trapped in a computer program for 15 years? He’ll roast you for being an incel the whole time, clown you for being 9,  and use exactly 6 cards, one for each of his friends, to beat your ass, and then leave the way he came in. Yami Yugi custom-designs ass whoopings. He is like if the cosmic concept of karma played children’s card games and cheated at them to prove a point.

dkjhfdfd someone in the ongoing “is Kaiba 100% good or 100% bad: people who haven’t watched ygo in ten years weigh in” debate in my notifs is arguing that Yugi’s grandpa’s coma was Pegasus’ fault, not Kaiba’s. and I gotta say, I love that the Well Actually here would be “you’re thinking of the two separate comas Yugi’s grandpa went into. back-to-back. two comas in two episodes. yugioh….is a show.”

i thought the first one was a heart attack but also i never actually WATCHED yugioh, i read it aloud to a small child whom i later joined in watching parts of The Abridged Series, so the actual anime adaptation in between those is almost entirely outside my experience.

Kaiba got mind crushed after the coma/heart attack he caused though, so do we hold modern kaiba accountable for the sins of his own pre-coma self? I mean. Yes. people are still responsible for their actions even if it's out of mental illnese but like also he is a very different person afterwards and thus clearly capable of more than pure evil. Like, he's just an awkward dick afterwards. in the manga Mokuba 100% tried to poison people and electrocute them, he's just a lot more sociable post-mindbreak.
