Its been years and this little interaction with Dum Dum still lives rent free in my head.

When you walk up to him outside Totentanz the interaction goes like this:

Dum Dum: You? Again? Alone this time, huh? No punk-ass 'amigo' today?

V: One more word about him and I stamp you out like a roach, got it?

Dum Dum: Got it.

I love this interaction because V just threatened one of the highest ranking members of the most violent gang in NC on their own terf and Dum Dum just responds like almost kindly given the context??? There's no way he's afraid of V, he's surrounded by his gang. I feel like his response of "got it" is like "Damn, you lost a choom? I know how that is. Won't mention it again." Which is just not something you'd expect from a scary robo-monster man.

Anyone else find it absolutely perfect that Barbie is quite possibly the last movie Johnny Silverhand ever saw before dying?

Johnny Silverhand Tea

So as a birthday present my sister had me design a Johnny Silverhand tea on Adagio and I'm excited with how it turned out. The flavor isn't mind-blowing but it's fruity and I enjoy it and overall I'm proud of it for it being my first time designing a tea, but I'm PSYCHED it turned out the red color I wanted. First pic is me attempting to be artistic with my picture and the second has the flash on to show that the tea turned out red.

My toddler brought me my Johnny plushie and asked me to sing "Ariel" songs and I just...

Playing around with the Character.ai creation and just got brutally murdered but I can't complain because tbh it's accurate.

"It was not in vain." He says as he counts thousands of eurodollars over my corpse.

I'm aware this theory is likely a cope and is red string conspiracy level but with all the Biblical (and a little gnostic) themes in cyberpunk (the Blackwall singing in Aramaic, beyond the Blackwall being hell, the Pistis Sophia, the hand gestures V or Johnny make before going beyond the Blackwall, ect..) I really want this theory to be accurate. 😭

So we know the next next game is called Orion, well the constellation is mentioned 3 times in the Old Testament but the Hebrew word for the constellation is Kesil, which means Fool. Now, who do we know in Cyberpunk 2077 is represented by The Fool?

Am I looking way to deeply into this? Absolutely. But am I ready for V's story to be over after Phantom Liberty? Absolutely not 😭

Vanessa’s All Foods Adventure

I love the All Foods mission because Maelstrom is hyped up to be so scary and unpredictable and insane (which they are) but this part shows how performative they are to keep up their persona. They totally unnecessarily disarm their defenses one by one before Jackie and V walk up to them, they have this guy stationed by this light just to shine it at them as they walk in, then there's that guy who struts on the catwalk above them just to say his line, Dum Dum is standing right there as the elevator door opens to intimidate them, and Royce waits to come out and say something until the most dramatic opportunity for his grand entrance. I love their drama, its adorable.

V is putting the moves on Dum Dum and Jackie is concerned and confused.

I love how mad Jackie looks when V tells him to sit down. 

I also love how Royce’s energetic demeanor just DROPS when he finds out Militech is onto them, he’s just like “ah fuck this shit”

How can someone simultaneously be so scary and so cute 

V: Don't worry, I have a few knives up my sleeve.

River: I think you mean cards.

V: *rolling up her sleeves and pulling out her Mantis Blades* No, I do not.

Johnny trying to prove he's boyfriend material

Ok so I'm Catholic, yeah? I have a deep love for religious art and iconography. Part of the reason I love Cyberpunk is how deep it is and I can pick it apart and see theological themes and symbolism but I usually chock that up to bias and possibly Polish culture (being a predominantly Catholic nation) seeping into the making of the game. But I was watching my husband play The Sun ending and I caught this:

It's hard to make out in a screenshot but it's Johnny holding his hand like the Child Christ in the tapestry we have of The Virgin with Angels next to our TV set up

The thing I love most about Religious Iconography is the deep deep symbolism, hand gestures being one of them.

So Johnny's left hand is an open palm symbolising trust, sincerity, and the absence of evil. A lot of the time used to depict a saint's soul being open to the view of the world and the outward facing palm is a symbol of faith and trust.

Johnny's right hand is showing the sign of peace.

I LOVE this explicit message about Johnny's change in character. Despite what Rouge says to him earlier, when she says his motives are self serving and he must be trying to get something out of it and he can't possibly just be doing this for V, this drives home that Johnny now is incredibly different from the Johnny she knew. Johnny is the end sincerely sacrifices himself so that V can live and in the process atones for his past sins. This game is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I love love love Johnny's journey from cold selfish rockerboy to self sacrificing friend.
