Marvel/Doctor Who Crossover AU: Stars & Stripes Forever
In the aftermath of the Battle of New York, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. find themselves forced to work with the members of UNIT and when Captain Steve Rogers meets Dr. Martha Jones sparks fly.
“So you’re a combat medic?”
“Technically, I’m a civilian, but for all intents and purposes, I suppose you could say that I am, yes.”
“Then I guess I’ll see you in the field,” Steve responded hopefully.
“Oh, I hope not,” Martha replied. When he looked at her questioningly, she broke into a bright smile. “It’s just that I’d hate for you to find yourself requiring medical attention, Captain Rogers,” she explained.
Steve’s smile returned. “Well if I do, Dr. Jones, I’m glad to know that I’ll be in good hands.”

Now everyone join hands and form a nice orderly circle around Pearl Mackie and protect her because we know how this is gonna go down.
She was just announced as the new companion TODAY and I’ve already seen so much complaining about her. We only saw her in a 2 minute trailer and yet so many people know that they will hate her and she’ll be annoying and dumb. Yeah, okay.

How regeneration works.
me: so basically the doctor is a computer with a cloud
me: when there's catastrophic system failure, the hardware can't be salvaged
me: but all the data's backed up on the cloud
me: so it transfers
me: but the thing is that the replacement computer isn't the same model as the previous one
me: it might be a laptop or a desktop
me: it might be an apple or a pc
me: it might overheat or crash every twenty seconds
me: god help you it might be running linux
me: and the new software will read the files strangely, or scramble them, or not be able to open some at all
me: point being, even though technically no data was lost
me: the user interface is now completely different
me: and that's how regeneration works.
