I feel like Draco Malfoy must have been such an embarrassment to his family in his tween years. Like, allegedly the Malfoys managed to masquerade as upstanding (though very traditionally-minded) citizens for years... and then their little son starts striding along the halls of his school, blithely repeating the extremely racist and politically incorrect things that his parents say behind closed doors because he doesn't get that that's not the kind of thing you say in public. No wonder Lucius wanted to send him to Durmstrang, in a foreign country, instead of Hogwarts.

I feel like if the Harry Potter books were set in America, the Malfoys would come from the deep South, and have the requisite accent. Draco spitting 'POTTER' at Harry would sound a lot less menacing in a Southern drawl.
