What are they doing to Jesus?

Just me or this season have they kinda turned Jesus into a whiny little baby? Is that to make us stop liking him so we are less sad when they probably kill him off next episode? And it seems they are setting up to have Tara take over for him at Hilltop. And maybe Aaron to be the new ninja thanks to Jesus’s training.

Why is he so whiny now anyway? Is it cuz he wanted Maggie to lead and he is hurt she left? Does he feel betrayed cuz he confided in her and looked up to her and she abandoned him, which triggers his sad, lonely upbringing? Ah, I bet that’s it.

And what’s up with Jaaron? I don’t hate it, but I really felt like Jesus and Daryl had some very significant scenes together like maybe Gimple or whoever was building toward something, and Jesus was adopting this therapist role, this season though, Angela Kang has been like, “Nope! Let’s throw all of that out the window and spin it the way I want it. Disregard all the previous developments and stuff.” Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE what Kang is doing with the show except for this. The way they are writing Jesus this season….

What's with the knives bruh

playing Walking Dead: No Man’s Land and I’ve got some observations about the loading screen.

1. Daryl caught in the middle between Maggie and Jesus and Michonne and Rick. The four all have their back to us. Daryl is only one facing us, crouched, like he’s caught in the middle of things.

2. Jesus and Rick facing out toward the horizon. Maggie and Michonne got their backs, but heads are turned toward each other.

3. Daryl has a duel pair of knives. No crossbow.

I’m thinking well, Rick is gonna die. I mean, we all can pretty much assume that right? It’s not even a spoiler.

Also, our precious, undervalued, underused, sweet baybeh Jesus…I think…we may really lose him…when he has so much potential (AND UGH I JUST SHIP HIM WITH DARYL SO MUCH IT HURTS).

Maggie and Michonne…tension fo show, which we getting on the show.

Darryl, like the youngest child in a dysfunctional family, probably wants to keep everyone together. Or, like Beth predicted way back in the day, is gonna be the only one to come out of whatever’s ahead.

Man, killing Jesus. What a waste. THEY'D BETTER NOTTTT.

Daryl needs a hug. Also, this goes on tangents.

I've been rewatching some older seasons of Walking Dead and you know, it got me thinking: of course Darryl wants Neagan dead after being tortured by him at the Sanctuary, and of course for murdering Glenn and Abraham. I've realized some of it, maybe a bigger part, is out of his guilt, and I think his guilt goes even deeper and farther back than the Saviors. I rewatched the episode from season 5 where Beth died. I think Daryl blames himself not just for Glenn's death but Beth as well. I think it's a big part of why he is so devoted to Maggie. Also, side note, anytime I revisit the Bethyl days (as in when they were traveling together. I wasn't a hardcore shipper on Tumblr at the time it aired, but I remember watching it with my mom and we both being like "I hope Beth is of age cuz these 2 got some serious chemistry fo real, and DARYL NEEDS SOMEONE NICE IN HIS LIFE CUZ EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS." Haha...anyway) I feel such loss for Daryl. Daryl says in that one episode to her, good doesn't survive and BOOM, foreshadow and we didn't even know it yet. You sentenced Beth right there BB. ALSO, I wish DARYL realized how effing good HE is. You know, this season, he's opened up again and talking more. Part might be from Angela Kang's doing, but part might actually have been intended by Gimple. Like, Gimple said to Norman, don't worry, Daryl will have a lot to say again, one day. I wonder if Gimple was referring to the time jump. Cuz before now, Daryl had gone through some shit you know. Your boy needs time and therapy to heal that. I wonder if all that time living in Hilltop, Jesus was his therapy? I think that cuz Jesus has kind of acted as a therapist to other characters. I feel like he's the perfect person to get Daryl to open up, especially after what he's witnessed and done for him. I also feel like when these two do get screen time together, they do have some significant scenes or stares and I'm like "whatisthiswhatisthiswhatisthis." It just seems like it's intentional. GOD. I want Daryl to have someone like Jesus. Can we get a scene with the two of them together again soon please? Can we talk about what happened in the Sanctuary please? Can we see Jesus put a hand on Daryl's arm and be like "Daryl, you are good." OMG, PLEASE?????? I hope they freaking address it all soon. Christ, if they kill off Jesus and we never get anything more from these two together I'm gonna feel so.....BAMBOOZLED.

spoilers, speculations, and....spazzing.

Okay, so several posts down, I ranted how I think it’s lame when TWD fans or ex-fans lose their minds and give up the show just cuz a character on it dies, especially because that’s what the show has been doing from the beginning: killing people, good and bad, people we like, people we didn’t like, people we thought still had big things ahead of them, etc. It seemed like since Negan came along, people suddenly had a problem with it and omg, I’m going into another rant. That was not the point of this post.

Now if Rick leaves, I’ll be sad. Very sad. I love Rick episodes. But I’ll be okay. He just lost his son, you know. He’s lived through...a lot. I’ll be okay.

If Michonne leaves, well, that better only be cuz Rick leaves. And ever since Black Panther, I’m like “There’s no way this chick is gonna stick around when she’s making that Marvel money now.” So I’ve basically had some time to accept that she will probably leave at some point.

Now these two leaving, that is gonna be heavy.

Also, I hear the actress who plays Maggie has got a new show coming out, so I expect she will leave. Another blow, but...I can accept it.

But I swear to god. If they kill Jesus. I know, I know, he could be dying. But I just refuse to accept it until I see the episode.

But if they really, truly kill him off.....it will be like a light going out on the show. It was already bad enough we barely got him last season.

LISTEN, I will still watch the show but OMG. THERE WILL BE FURY. He is JESUS. YOU CAN’T KILL JESUS.

Um, that’s all I wanna say.

Caryl is so FETCH?

So I think I’ve touched on it before, but after last night’s Caryl moment, I have to touch on it again, the fact that I think the so-called “romance” between Daryl and Carol is a complete delusion. Now when I ship, I ship HARD, and I get reeeeaaallly aggravated when people say,“THEY’RE LIKE BROTHER AND SISTER,” but….in this case. I have to say it. Carol and Daryl clearly have a brotherly/sisterly relationship.

Daryl has not have romantic chemistry with anyone on the show. I’m kinda convinced that Daryl has never had a romantic relationship PERIOD. I can believe he MAYBE got laid in the past, and if so he was probably drinking and/or Merle hooked it up, but even that, I am not so sure. Daryl is a loner and has been his whole life. Not only that, but a survivor, and he has had to survive on his own. I don’t see him having much of an opportunity to experience love. I kinda see him as a Peter Pan type in that he doesn’t allow people to get TOO close to him. I think the closest he has allowed anyone to slip through the cracks is Beth. Beth was cute, got under his skin, and was the only good, pure thing in his life, and that was the closest we have ever seen Daryl flirt. There was a spark there, but alas, THAT WAS A FIRE NEVER TO BE KINDLED.

Daryl and Carol have a bond and it is BEAUTIFUL. I can agree with shippers 100%. They are loyal to one another, they joke around, she’s there for him (comforting him over Beth) and I love how he looks out for her–their tender, physical moments get to me, and I think it’s sweet…but it reminds me so much of how an older brother looks out for his sister, including that touching reunion they had after Terminus. I just don’t feel like it’s anything more than family. I feel like Carol could not get what she NEEDS from Daryl , being the lone wolf that he is and his social skills kinda suck. Also, when she teasingly said something like,“wanna fool around,” they both laughed about it like,“PFFFTTT. YA RIGHT,” like they both knew it was ridiculous; I think if Daryl’s feelings toward her were romantic, he would have been a little more embarrassed or standoffish. Friends joke about crap like that…I certainly wouldn’t be bold enough to joke about that sort of thing toward someone I seriously harbored feelings for…but maybe that’s me, haha. Plus we’ve had so many hugs between those two and over 6 seasons, it has not progressed into anything more interesting than that (i.e. alternatively, we have had Richonne build us up to them getting together, from despising and not trusting one another, to comrades, to friends, to family, to lovers), so the interactions between have been rather stagnant.

Plus we got Tobin. That’s his name, right? Now he COULD be just Carol’s version of Jessie, but what he said to her, that WAS romantic. He sees Carol as MORE than a mom to the community, he sees her a strong, SEXEH LADAAAAAY. Now that’s hot. That’s what Carol needs to hear, baby…

Back to Daryl, up until recently, I thought he was asexual. I think that’s part of the reason why I don’t see him with Carol, because I didn’t ever see him really FITTING with anybody….and then Jesus came along. NOW I COULD BE TOTALLY WRONG, but being that Jesus is an openly gay character and him and Daryl already started on the wrong foot, wouldn’t it be intriiiiiguing if Jesus started putting the moves on Daryl, and watching Daryl react to this kid that he loathes plus have his sexuality come into question. Daryl being a closeted homosexual would certainly explain why it is so hard for me to picture him with any female ever. Plus I noticed Jesus giving Daryl a lot of pointed stares….I think it is possible that there may eventually be something there, even if it turns out to be one-sided….

ANYWAY, my point being….

darus (jesus x daryl) thoughts/masterpost.

Paul “Jesus” Monroe (in the comic) is openly gay, and has an off-and-on relationship with a man named Alex who is a doctor, I believe. Now, it hasn’t been revealed yet in the show that Jesus is gay yet. But I have a feeling it will be revealed pretty soon here. Jesus is super confident in the comic, and in the show (so far). He’s also smart as hell, and I firmly believe that Jesus was testing Rick and Daryl just to feel them out. To see if they’re actually human beings, y’know? So, he probably figured, well, they didn’t kill me, I gotta find out where the hell their home is. Did he intentionally get caught in the chase after he falls off the roof? I absolutely think so, it’s as if he was totally playing with them.

Okay, on to Daryl, it is a fact that Daryl’s sexuality has never been confirmed or actually revealed on the show. Now, of course people ship Carol and Daryl, rightfully so. Carol is the first woman out of all of the seasons he connected with first. It seems like in the second season they were going for Caryl. But what people tend to forget is that in season two their was a different main writer for the show (Frank Darabont, whom was fired like out of nowhere). Then it has been revealed to the public that Carol was actually supposed to die in Season 3 at the prison. But that got replaced with T-Dog (Sad face for T-dog). Carol and Daryl have a special place in their hearts for each other no doubt about that. But if anyone has been living underneath a rock, nothing sexual has ever happened between Carol and Daryl. Yes, they had an amazing heartwarming big reunited hug, and a kiss on the forehead by Carol. But that is all that has come out of it so far. Now, will Caryl ever happen? I have no clue, for the longest time I shipped Caryl, but now I’m not so sure what direction they’re going with their relationship.

Now as for Darus as a couple?

Let’s see, so if you haven’t noticed I would like to point out a couple of things..

Daryl and Aaron have a few moments in Season Five, the spaghetti dinner with Aaron & his boyfriend Eric (Yayyy<3). Also, when Aaron runs into Daryl in the woods, and if you pay a little more attention Aaron lets Daryl know that their is a bit of prejudice for him and his boyfriend back at Alexandria. (That they’re somewhat considered outsiders because of it). Daryl doesn’t really say anything about it, but obviously listens to what he’s saying. Aaron also proceeds to say something among the lines of, “I know you’re an outsider too.” Then of course a bit later he invites him to dinner with the funny as hell sloppy spaghetti Daryl thing. He’s basically so accepted with the gays of the show, and they all adore him.

Before Daryl and Rick go on their run there is a Denise and Daryl scene where Denise has a special request for her girlfriend Tara. Daryl is somewhat hilariously confused by the word pop, and then there is a particular line where Denise says, “I’m not very good at this kind of thing.” Meaning, romantic mushy gushy gift giving. You know who isn’t good at stuff like that? Daryl. Even Norman says himself, that Daryl isn’t a guy who would push someone up against a tree and just have his way with them. This happens right before Jesus runs into them.

Also, if you look up an interview of Norman, he reveals to the interviewer that for a while one of the writers in season two or three I think wanted to explore what Daryl’s sexuality was. He also mentions that he’d be completely down with it.

DARUS (Daryl and Jesus/Paul): When they first meet it’s intense as hell. Daryl is still distrusting of people because of Dwight stealing his stuff, and aiming a gun at his head. He doesn’t trust Jesus at all. Jesus is smart, fast, and seemingly confident (Just like in the comics). Whereas Daryl can be awkward, silent, somewhat grumpy type. In 2015 Robert kirkman also said something about doing with Daryl’s sexual/romantic orientation and I honestly don’t think he would’ve said something like that if he meant he was possibly considering the heterosexual route. Right when they meet, and Daryl lowers his gun, Jesus says, “But still, Best not to try anything,”. Daryl responds with, “Best not to make threats that you can’t keep either,”. Jesus eyes him, and replies, “Exactly,” agreeing. The rest of the episode is full of looney tunes like funny banter between the two. Daryl chasing Jesus practically playing together. Jesus saves Daryl from a walker behind him, Daryl still thanks him even before punching his face. If this was anyone else, I think they would’ve just punched Jesus. He appreciates what Jesus did, but he has his gun. I don’t think Daryl appreciates people taking his stuff again (*cough cough* Dwight) ..:D When Rick and Daryl are bringing Jesus home Rick swerves the car so Jesus rests on his shoulder adorably. I’ve read a lot of people’s opinions on this scene, and I read one genius opinion. Okay so, Rick is the main character, the main one that the writer’s control, you can take this in a way that the writers want Jesus and Daryl to like each other? Think about it. Daryl is obviously flustered by this, and pushes Jesus back away from him. This just seemed like Jesus will try and get closer to him or maybe show a bit of affection later on in the show and Daryl will just push him away and deny his feelings, like he did in the car by pushing Jesus back. (In an interview, Norman spoke about how Daryl was possibly going to be portrayed as a closeted gay male who would deny it out of his own modesty.)   And Rick then reminded Daryl that he knew that Daryl wouldn’t have left Jesus there. And Daryl, being Daryl, denied it and acted all tough. I’m pretty damn sure that Jesus wasn’t 100% knocked out during the whole car ride. So, he must have heard some of the conversation between Rick and Daryl. I can’t help but think this is some form of foreshadowing of Jesus jokingly and/or seriously flirting with Daryl at some point in time. Also, it’s not totally unheard of if at some point Daryl is under some distress, and Jesus just directs Daryl’s head on his shoulder for some support. The last scene with Paul and Daryl, he leaves water at his bedside, just like with the pop except he doesn’t shake it up. If you notice in that scene when Daryl does shake it up, and says, “In case, you get thirsty.” You can visibly see Jesus being humored by this, and chuckles watching Daryl as he walks away. Jesus appears very confident in nature, and could totally win over Daryl. Norman Reedus has stressed time and time again that Daryl literally has no game, and he would never make the first move with anyone. Robert Kirkman also gives no fucks when it comes to what people think, if you’ve ever read any of his comics, he has badass gay characters. He even says, “There needs to be more badass gay characters, I don’t know why there isn’t many, but with me there is in my comics,”. It would be such a perfect opportunity for the show and writers to show that there can be a badass gay couple that completely smashes the stereotypes. The Walking Dead is very diverse in nature. Glenn and Maggie, Maggie is a white farmer girl, and Glenn is a Pizza delivery Korean dude with nine lives. Aaron and Eric are an openly gay couple that has ran into homophobic people in Alexandria before Rick and the gang arrived. Tara and Denise, Tara a brunette selfless lesbian, Denise a blonde doctor. Rick and Michonne, Rick the handsome white leader sometimes a reckless Officer Friendly nonetheless badass, Michonne a black goddess Katana Queen badass. Come on, Jesus and Daryl, Jesus a fast confident openly gay fighting master with really great eyes and beard, Daryl a cross-bow and RPG wielding redneck who’s adorably awkward and tough with a heart of gold and to-die-for muscly af arms. Throughout the whole episode, Daryl is chasing Jesus. Later on, I can guarantee that Jesus will be chasing after (not literally, but metaphorically) Daryl. There is just so much symbolism, and foreshadowing in the episode, more than I thought after I was done over-analyzing. I’m looking forward for more Daryl and Paul scenes, it’s ridiculous.

All in all, I have no doubt that Paul and Daryl will get close somehow. Whether it be, friendship, flirtation (mostly from Jesus, probably), relationship. There has to be a reason why they had Daryl and Jesus having the most contact with each other throughout the whole episode of first introducing him. Although it would be great to see them in a relationship together as we have not seen Daryl in one throughout the seasons so far, just these characters getting closer would be completely rad. And The Walking Dead love to have characters seemingly dislike each other at first, then later on they’re super close (Daryl and Rick, Rick and Michonne) It’s just pretty much predictable that they will be close. Like I love that one gif-set parallel where Michonne says to Rick, “don’t ever touch me again!” Oh, how times have changed. (’:. Daryl was calling Jesus (excuse my language, it’s Mr. Dixon’s choice of words not mine) prick, asshole, and my personal favorite, “come here, you little shit!” I think it’s because he added little to it that it’s my favorite. ;) So, later on can we expect Daryl calling him sweeter names? We shall see. Tell me what you guys think, I can’t be the only one that would love to see these two badass characters having some sweet times together. :)
