now that authors have been revealed for the HRH Christmas Exchange (2016), i might as well post this here as well o7 it was fun to look back on s1 episodes to write this, even if it meant looking back at Suffering™… but reimagining what happened in eps 7/8 with a younger rin and haru not knowing why there was a rift (in their older selves’ places) was fun to do :)

*slams fist on table* GOOD PROMPT. also because i forgot to actually write it in: they’re at iwatobi’s outdoor pool. yeah, they snuck in.
RinHaru + Cheek Kisses.
“I can’t believe I agreed to this,” Rin says, watching layers of Haru’s clothing fall near the edge of the pool. “Seriously. Why the fuck did I say I’d let you do this?”
Over his shoulder, Haru meets Rin’s gaze evenly. His mouth isn’t quite a frown, but his eyebrows pull together enough that he might as well be snarling. “You can’t take it back now. You said I could swim, so I’m going to swim.”
“Haruka starts to turn around, and Rin’s arms loosen enough to let him. Rin’s eyebrows are up slightly; he is ready to let go. But Haruka is feeling deliciously fluttery, and kisses him instead.
It was the right decision. Rin melts, and Haruka melts against him. It amazes him that there are moments that are still this easy.”
some doodles after I reread the new chapter of “Long Distance” by clandestine7 which happens to be the best RH fic out here. If you haven’t read it, do it right now! (text is obviously NOT mine, it’s from the fic)
Honeymoons come with expectations. Passion. Heat. Breathless, endless love making. The bed in their hotel room means something that leaves twin lumps of discomfort in Rin and Haru’s stomachs.
So they dissect the bed. They throw off the petal covered comforter, steal the pillows and blankets, and toss them into the bathtub. It’s not one bit comfortable. They wake up with cricks in their necks, creaking joints, and numb limbs but who cares? They’re together, and they will be for a very, very long time. (x)

January in Australia is the Peak of Summer, the middle of the rainy season, the time of year when all of the things that make the Land Down Under a permanent feature of “World’s Scariest Travel Locations” lists come a-calling. It is also, unfortunately, one of the few times of year Haruka can visit Rin without the repercussions of missing class, practice, or both.
On Rin’s Birthday
like sinking, like drowning, like dissolving into the radiance of Rin’s sun
commission for wonderful airin @icecreambat, who wanted me to draw my favourite scene from a fic of hers. it’s called wind waves and it’s honestly one of the most stunning fics i’ve ever read - not just in free! fandom but like. ever.
i drew two scenes (from chapters 5 and 1 respectively) instead of one because: a.) choosing just one when i have like a whole list of fav ww moments was TORTURE; b.) the second can be considered a bonus, an expression of gratitude for creating such an immensely beautiful story; c.) eh, why the hell not.
a little about my choice of scene(s) to draw. the hug + spilled tea moment from chapter 5 is one of the most emotionally charged scenes for me. it’s exactly that kind of scene that makes you forget to breathe for a few moments, that makes you feel a little dizzy and lightheaded in a good way, in the best way possible. it was also the first scene i had a very vivid image of in my head, apart from the opening scene from chapter 1 which made me fall in love with this story from the very beginning and which i ended up drawing too as a little bonus.
if i could, i’d write an entire essay about wind waves but since i’m absolutely no good when it comes to words, i can only hope that these drawings did the job instead.
