when castiel broke free of lucifer’s hold to stop him from killing sam in 11.14, it was monumental. here’s why:
sam is lucifer’s true vessel, so lucifer has to preserve sam’s body. but for castiel, lucifer isn’t afraid to rip that body apart. castiel took the risk of being killed to save sam.
#do you think sam ever gets tired of being right
#and it’s always Sam that has to suffer the consequences of the others’ decisions
THE SUPERNATURAL GIF CHALLENGE ↳happilysammy vs. @wehunt-monsters-whatthehell Round 21 | Season 11 + favorite emotional moment
This is probably my favorite scene of the season, and definitely one of my favorite scenes of the series. I love how they did this. How Sam looked small sitting in the corner of the cage. I love how quiet Sam’s No was. It wasn’t loud and in your face and angry. It was quiet. But in that quiet it was confident and sure. I think it takes a certain kind of strength to look at your demons and say, “No, I’m not going to let you hurt me again.”
Hi. It's been a bit of a disappointing 2 days. Ever since the ep aired and Lucifer said he lost his virginity to Kelly people have been trivializing/dismissing/mocking Sam's rape torture. I mean, the rapes have been so heavily implied since s7 that no one can miss it and yet I see even Sam girls denying it now! And happily so too. It's disappointing. If Sam girls won't take Sam's torture seriously then who will?
Oh my gosh, Anon, I’ve been seeking the same thing! It’s driving me up a wall and it’s so, so gross, because the show is uncomfortably explicit about the sexual assault references regarding Sam and Lucifer.
Here, I got a thing I wrote in response to some stuff over at @samwinchestermeta that I’m gonna reblog over here in just a second, and a whole tag of stuff about Sam and sexual assault over at SWM.
I limited the link above to posts that contained both the tag and references to Lucifer, but there’s also the general tag just in case there’s anything useful in there…
And Lucifer claiming that he lost his virginity could easily refer to…
- his first time having consensual sex
- his first time having sex while in a human vessel
ETA: Just in case all of the above isn’t enough, Mark Pellegrino explicitly said at a con that Lucifer raped Sam. He was unsettlingly joking about it, but for anyone who wants to take a look, it happens at the very start of this video.
For those who don’t, this is the relevant quote:
MARK PELLEGRINO: […] because you know that there was a Samifer thing going on. Lucifer ain’t gonna let the guy who’s responsible for putting him there [in the Cage] get away without a little bit of, uh… lovin’.
It also is worth keeping in mind that Lucifer “losing his virginity” to Kelly is subjective and not to be mistaken with “never having sexual intercourse at all”. For Lucifer, perhaps this was his first time using sex for himself and with his goal of having a child (Jack). That doesn’t mean he never had sex or didn’t use it for power and dominance, like with what appears to be the case with Sam. Virginity is a subjective term in any case. Rape victims, in some instances, don’t consider themselves no longer a virgin because they’ve been violated horribly in such a way. It’s a way of reclaiming sex and things pertaining to sex for themselves. It’s not to be confused with the fact that Lucifer may never have had sex before at all or used it to get what he wanted.
Lucifer: Sam what are you doing man, I’m hurt, please!

Lucifer vs. Rowena: A Study in Character Development
Also known as, actions speak louder than words. Lucifer continually claims to have changed, but no one else perceives it that way because his actions haven’t changed at all. He’s still just as self-serving as he’s always been, and everyone can see it but him.
Rowena, however, doesn’t claim to have changed - quite the opposite, in fact. She calls herself “flawed, petty, and evil” - but in this case, her peers disagree. Her actions show that she’s changed, that she’s grown as a person.
Lucifer and Rowena both had the opportunity to use Sam in a ploy to get their son back, but only one went through with it. So who is the “flawed, petty, evil creature” and who has truly changed?
didn't gabriel learn all his tricks from lucifer?? lmao what is continuity
1x01 vs. 1x13
*violently agrees*
If she does see Lucifer again I hope she makes him suffer
darkness and light
i find so interesting and beautiful the entire concept of "darkness and light" in this show, specially towards sam.
i'll start this talking about sam and dean. there was this thing planned long before the brothers were even born, and it was the apocalypse: lucifer versus michael, the ultimate battle. a fact we all know is that dean was supposed to be michael; the good guy, the perfect little soldier, the righteous man. on the other hand, sam was supposed to be lucifer; the rebel, the one who betrayed his brother, the evil one. it's pretty clear that one of the brothers was supposed to be the light and the other one to be the darkness. it's easy to get your conclusions about which one is what.
what i find extremely ironic is the fact that their entire relationship shows quite the opposite. with this i am not trying to say that dean is evil or that sam is a saint. i mean that sam is, most of the time, the optimistic one; he always believes that everyone deserves a second chance, he always tries to find even the smallest positive thing in the middle of the negativity sea and he always believes that every single living thing can be good regardless of their nature. meanwhile, dean is more like the pessimistic one; it's hard for him to believe in other people, most of the time thinks that mosters are monsters because they were born as supernatural beings and not because of their actual actions, and also most of the time he doesn't give second chances. based on their personalities, sam is the light of their relationship, and dean is the darkness. i don't mean this as a bad thing. you can consider it good, bad or neutral.
also, i want to talk about sam and lucifer, and how opposite they are regarding their personal nature. so, lucifer was literally the brightest angel of them all; the actual light-bringer, and he became evil. and as chuck said about lucifer and the mark, it didn't change him; it just made him more of what he already was. with ot without the mark, eventually he would have become evil anyways. then, we have sam winchester; the boy with the demon blood, the abomination and the freak. sam was supposed to go all dark side, because that's how heaven and hell intended to write his story. still, he's good. he is so unique that death himself told him it was an honour to collect his soul.
despite of his light, lucifer preferred the darkness. despite of the darkness inside of him, sam chose the light.
i find this concept so poetic and yet ironic. i love it.
