We’re both women.. so don’t you mock me!!!
To live such beautiful lives quite often carry tragic tales.
Women need to be strong in order to survive

A Mother’s Love
SSPrompt: Isn't she lovely?
Prompt: RTN. Mikoto and Sasuke tend to an injured Sakura outside of the academy.
This is a short drabble that may or may not be related to the RTN multi-chapter I’m thinking of writing. Let me know what you think and enjoy! ^_^
As Sasuke could obviously be categorized as popular amongst his peers, it didn’t take him long to divert the horde of terrible little girls away from the familiar pink-haired girl that sat at the front of class. It had been a mere two days into class at the academy, yet the bullying had already begun.
“How can your head stand a window for a forehead?”
“It takes talent to be that useless!”
“Did you swap your real hair with a wig made of bubblegum, freak?”
The comments knew no end, Sasuke quickly saw. With each new way to tear the girl to shreds, the young Uchiha found it harder to bear the guilt; the cringe at every insult, the clench of his heart at every glare. Still, Sasuke’s father had always told him to avoid the affairs of strangers. Nevertheless, it was once the teasing turned violent that he could no longer endure the silence. Sasuke, after all, had always sort of fancied himself the type to do the right thing. All worries aside, it only took the boy a mere threat of immediate un-invitation to his next birthday party that sent the nasty horde of bullying girls running for the hills and into the embrace of their mothers. (Not that he actually planned to invite them anyway.)
Sasuke went to the girl’s side once her tormentors were out of sight. A bright red ribbon was held loosely in his hand, which he promptly held out to her. “This is yours, right?” he offered, although he knew full well that the ribbon did in fact belong to her. She wore it everyday; it suited her, he thought.
Glassy eyes stared at the ribbon, up at him, and quickly back to the ribbon before she reached out apprehensively. Sasuke swore she was about to speak, but was distracted by the familiar “Sasuke-kun!” that filled his ears.
Both children turned to the beautiful, raven-haired woman that stood over them with a content yet concerned look on her face. Sasuke was quick to explain the situation. “They were bullying her,” he said, “so I stopped it.”
“Ah, so I see,” Mikoto spoke, stooping down to their level, “and what a good thing to do, Sasuke-kun."
Sasuke gave his mother a wide smile. Though Mikoto hardly had time to reciprocate as her motherly instincts were quickly directed to the skimmed palms of the pink-haired girl beside Sasuke. Mikoto was quick to identify the girl, as anyone of her generation might be, but said nothing of it; Mikoto knew who she was, and surely Haruno Sakura, daughter of the village heroes (may they rest in peace) knew herself, thus there was no purpose in fretting over it.
"May I see your hands?” Mikoto spoke softly and with a reassuring smile.
Sakura looked reluctant, but obliged nonetheless. With her little palms facing upward, Sakura looked to the woman with hopeful, anticipating eyes. Mikoto smiled once more and rested her own hands above the girl’s. Sasuke looked on in excitement as he anticipated what his mother would do next. Emitting a brief whirr of healing chakra into her hands, Mikoto carefully tended to the broken skin of Sakura’s palms. Typically, a child would whine in the slightest or shed a few tears at the discomfort, but Sakura looked far too interested in the green glow of Mikoto’s technique.
Once the chakra dissipated and Sakura’s hands were healed, Mikoto took the ribbon that Sasuke had been wagging at her expectantly and tidied up Sakura’s hair. Observing her work for a moment, Mikoto couldn’t help feeling accomplished; healed hands, no tears, and bright red bow in place.
Sakura placed a hand lightly over Mikoto’s and spoke a soft, “Thank you.”
Mikoto took her hand and merely smiled, wagging a bashful hand, “Oh, it’s nothing!”
“Anou,” Sakura spoke, suddenly a bit flushed in the face before brilliantly curious emerald eyes shot up to meet Mikoto’s, “You think you could teach me how to do that glowy thing?! It was AMAZING!” Sakura spread her arms out wide to show the extent of her interest, a dazzling smile decorated her face.
Mikoto chuckled, “Can’t say no to a smile like that.”

It was once the two Uchiha began their short trek home that Sasuke turned to his mother beaming. Mikoto raised a slim, knowing eyebrow at her son and followed, “So is that the one you’ve been going on about?”
Sasuke sighed, turning his eyes back to the road, smile in place.
“Isn’t she lovely, okaa-san?”
