My GIF making process!

I’ve been asked many times for a tutorial, but because I get really detailed, I always get overwhelmed by the idea. But I finally decided to buckle down! 

Just so you know: I don’t use PSDs in this, and I don’t import layers to frames or anything like that. I like the hard way—at least in gif making, I believe you get higher quality gifs. Join me as I show you how to make gifs by loading videos directly into the Photoshop timeline and my coloring and sharpening techniques.

Do you wish AO3 had a night mode? I have good news for you. It does!

Go to https://archiveofourown.org/skins and find Reversi in the list of public skins. You can either preview it to see what it looks like (it’s the picture above), or you can set it to make the change. 

From that same url, you can also Create your own Site Skin. If you’re not confident with coding, you can always start by copying the code from one of the public skins and then tweaking the colours or fonts to suit your preferences. 

For exampe, I once combined Reversi (dark mode) with Bylines (which separates each type of tags on a fic onto its own line when you’re browsing the archive). You can get the code here, if that’s a thing you want. 

If you want to make the site look a different way, the power is in your hands! And if you ever want to go back to the way AO3 looked before, you can just Revert to Default Skin.

(note that button only appears when you’re not using the default already)

I don’t have the option to turn it off yet, but chances are good that my dash is still affected. Chances are good that y'all have been affected. Whatever you do, keep checking your settings tab for the ability to TURN THIS OFF. Because we creators are gonna suffer from this.

There’s a chance that y'all might not have gotten this option yet, but i finally did. For the sake of all creators out there, check your general settings and look for this option. If you have it, TURN IT OFF. Don’t let some algorithm dictate what you see.

Don’t just like this. It needs to be spread so people know. Not only will your feed be out of chronological order, but creators who aren’t hella popular are suffering lack of exposure because of this. This is the one thing i WILL pressure to reblog.

I want to say that I absolutely benefited from the old dash. I knew when to post to get my things seen. I just make gifs and sometimes edits. But for the original content creator’s, the authors, the artist’s this is devastating to their success. Tumblr is alot of things - but supportive of original art is one of the constants. Let’s not make this bad for the artist’s and I want you to be in control of what you see. Keep checking the settings, change it, spread this. And if all else fails send your work to me. I’ll try and get it out there, I’ll try to help.

TO ANYONE LIVING IN THE UK

There is a petition to try and call another referendum about the EU, with a rule asking for a 60% majority before a decision is made. Yes this is a shitty time, but hopefully there’s still a chance to fix things. The Leave campaign have already gone back on some of their promises before the referendum, so please, if you can, can you sign this? If we get 100 000 signatures parliament have to debate it, so please. Even if you’re not in the UK if you can share this to try and get it out there, that would be fantastic. Here’s the link:

Hello! I am currently looking for not necessarily a writer or beta, but someone who may both possess those skills as well as be able to provide some suggestions and insight for my current wip fic.

Some details I can give right now is that it is a Liam-centric canon au which acts as a “coming out” story. It is about 17k now unfinished and I am anticipating it to be over 20k finished. There is some explicit content and does cover a bit of his relationship with Sophia, but the endgame will be lilo.
