In 1939, Gwilym Lee and Rami Malek are crew members of Project Mercury. Its mission: to find a new home in the event that theirs is destroyed in the oncoming war. They say goodbye to their loved ones with the promise that they’ll be back in a year.

In 2039, Project Mercury returns home, devastated to discover that what was only a year for them was 100 years on Earth. Ben Hardy and Joe Mazzello are part of the team assigned to help the crew members adjust to their new lives alone, without everyone they ever knew.

Liam/Louis, sort of real-life AU except Louis is at uni doing his teacher training course, and living with Zayn and Niall, and Liam is a pop star. Harry isn’t in this bit but he’s BFF with Liam and living in London.

It was freezing cold, even on the bus, and water ran down the insides of the windows because apparently the little rain cloud that was shitting on Louis’ life travelled by public transport too.

Contains attempting to use alcohol as a coping mechanism.

For the record, the tiger inside of Louis’ head is called Hobbs. Take from that what you will.
