well dearies, i am back! and i am back with ANOTHER harlee aesthetic/headcanon AU! this time it’s ROM-COM themed and I absolutely adore it!
this is dedicated to @xu-ming-hoe who was very excited to know what i’d create! hope you’ll enjoy it darling!

HERE WE GO!
1. Lucy & Rami - The Maleks
- lucy and rami are newly wed
- and they are currently on their super cool and romantic honeymoon in the caribbeans
- unfortunately a storm is blocking every departure from the island
- and they have to spend a few more days there
- the problem is: rami had booked a nice surprise for them for as soon as they got back from the honeymoon
- but now they won’t make it and he cannot cancel, he already knew that when he booked the thing
- so rami calls his best friend, joe
- asking him to go in their place to not let the money go wasted
- rami tells him he can bring whoever he wants since the thing was for two people anyway
- so joe is pretty much a trainwreck
- he’s an it guy
- he’s a nerd
- and probably a genius
- but a genius who doesn’t know how to properly keep his stuff in order
- he’s the comic book fan™
- many pop culture related puns
- many comics related puns
- he was rami’s best man
- he agrees to help rami
- but of course he doesn’t want to do it all on his own
- so he decides to bring his best friend: ben
- rami agrees because he trusts ben to watch over joe and prevent usual joe-like messes
- ben is a veterinarian
- he agrees to go with joe only because he really needs one evening off
- also, he doesn’t want to let his friend rami down
- he likes hanging out with joe anyway
- so he agrees
- he’s not really happy to know that they are going to a cooking thing
- because he doesn’t care much for cooking
- and because he doesn’t want to follow instructions all evening
- but he sucks it up and goes
- he’s a balanced adult right?
- he can deal with a boring cooking class
- so he drives both him and joe to the location and-
- AND IT’S A BAKERY, IT’S A FUCKING PATISSERIE AND BEN THINKS NO NO NO ABORT MISSION NO NO NO
- he doesn’t even know how to make an apple pie, he doesn’t want to be stuck making fucking stupid macarons all night
- but they’re here and joe is excited and rami has already paid anyway…
- so ben goes up to what seems to be the…chef?!
- allen is the sous-chef
- and co-owner of the bakery
- he’s extremely polished and classy
- and almost has an heart attack at the sight of joe’s baggy star wars hoodie
- he looks like he’s ready for a damn photoshoot seen how elegant he looks
- he asks ‘are you…the maleks?’
- and joe laughs, snorts, and laughs again
- ben wants to disappear right there right in that moment
- but he tries to smile politely and says ‘no, the maleks have had a problem…”
- he explains everything
- allen knows that usually they don’t allow switching
- but a tropical storm seems like a good reason
- and the evening is already booked so…
- he just says “I’ll leave you with the chef, here he comes…”
- gwil is slightly pissed off
- he doesn’t like the switch thing
- he doesn’t like joe’s many questions
- he doesn’t like ben’s silence
- he kinda likes ben’s eyes
- he tries not to stare
- he’s PISSED OFF he will stay PISSED OFF
- even when ben makes a perfect swift motion and creates the pretties chocolate drip ever
- “your hands are very steady, you’re precise”
- “i have to be, i am a veterinarian”
- JOE IS GLOATING AND SHIPPING THEM SO HARD
- gwil is undeniably charming, even ben, who’s kinda whining, has to admit it
- something definitely happens when gwil tastes ben’s dessert at the end and proceeds to automatically say “here, taste it”
- and FEEDS IT TO HIM
- joe is internally screaming
- but then the evening is over and well…bye bye
EXCEPT THAT IT’S NOT BYE BYE
- because one night
- while the rain is pouring outside
- a soaking wet gwil walks into ben’s clinic with a dying dog in his arms
- “I acidentally run over a dog with my car”
- “YOU DID WHAT?”
- “I DIDN’T MEAN TO! IT WAS RAINING IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE”
- ben immediately gets to work yelling at gwil to just go away already
- “IT COULD’VE HAPPENED TO ANYONE! IT WAS DARK AND IT WAS RAINING!”
- “WELL WE’LL HEAR WHAT THE DOG HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT!”
- “THE DOG IS A DOG IT CAN’T-”
- “GO AWAY!”
- but gwil feels so bad
- and he waits in the waiting room
- and there ben finds him
- at dawn
- soaking wet
- freezing
- waiting
- worried
- and his heart flips and his lungs grow tighter and he feels his insides all warm
- “the dog will be fine, after some therapy”
- gwil decides to adopt the dog and swears that he’ll bring him in for therapy every day
- ben smiles and asks gwil if he wants a cup of tea and a dry sweater
- “My place is right behind the corner”
- and well…the rest is history!
more like: the rest is up to whoever decides to write that, IF anyone decides to write that of course!
