hey, i need to let you know that your renders are some of my favorite if not my favorite. i can't pinpoint exactly what makes them so beautiful to me but i always end up staring at them (and I may or may not have one of them as my phone background 😐)

Thank you so so much for updating your body presets so they can be used on mixed frame sims! Almost no CC in general works on them, especially presets, and it's so frustrating as someone who prefers to only really play with male sims with female frames. 💗💗💗💗💗 They all look so pretty, this will make it so much easier to make my sims look more unique from each other and get their proportions more accurate to what they're supposed to look like!

What villain do you believe is most worthy of a redemption arc?

I can agree that Veilguard has its issues, there are some things I’m not a big fan of and some choices that as someone who’s played through the entirety of the series multiple times and read the books/comics don’t make a lick of sense to me, but overall it’s a good game imo. I’ve been taking my time and exploring in it but to me it read like if DA2 was given time to be fleshed out properly while still being new. I think because of the lore and previous writing they wrote themselves into a bit of a corner, but that’s was inevitable at some point. If this is supposed to be a soft reboot then maybe that means the next game goes back to having that more open choice RPG feel people are saying it’s missing

Personally, I went in with no expectations because I love this franchise and I know most of my headcanons and thoughts aren’t EA’s world state, which is fine. But I’ve been really enjoying the game. The combat is a bit of a learning game curve compared to what we’ve had before but the heart of the games has always been the story and the interaction you have with your companions but that’s just me. People can be mad and upset and complain about being a “DA purist” or complain that they don’t like the art style but at its core everyone has a different experience and connection to the game and no single DA game looks like another. The styles are all different! And if something doesn’t match with your story for your player character you can literally write fix-it fics and headcanons if you’re really mad about it *cough cough all of us who wanted the Hawke/Varric romance that they scrapped*

At the end of the day, I’d say take everything everyone’s been saying about the game with a (large) grain of salt. Take your time, explore, and enjoy it. It’s a got beautiful scenery, you can pet the cats and Mabari, and the cc for both Rook and the Inquisitor made me tear up because I literally haven’t seen my girl in 3 years and here she is with pretty flowing hair and still (in my mind because I haven’t seen her in game yet) is a rebel with a cause

Sorry for the long rant and rambling also, it’s just neat seeing creators and blogs I follow on here get excited about what is pretty much my favorite game series when in my offline experience is that it’s a very niche series to like. Also love your content for sims btw! I always get excited seeing when you’ve got something new cooking

Veilguard anon here. I think the game can be enjoyable! Everything i listed are gripes that are more personal, especially for players who liked DA as being an RPG rather than being quasi-linear.

Honestly save states for me was more of a show of wanting to keep the world consistent across the entire series, and that's extra effort they didn't really have to go through, you know? The changes are small, but it's all extra work that ultimately isn't required. It means more dialogue branching, more models, tons and tons of writing...and it means a lot when a AAA game puts that kind of time, money and energy into something so small. So it being completely removed is in my eyes a show of laziness rather than it being a soft reboot, because EA is worse than it was in 2017 and can't be bothered to spend that money into making the game more detailed.

The best way to put it and how i feel about it is this: i love love love the sims 4. Despite its flaws, it's fun! But it's when you compare it to previous games (and the amount of content they contain) that it's really apparent that it's empty and soulless, and puts on blast how lazy and money-hungry EA has gotten.

So whilst i love and adore ts4, i still wish they had given time and attention to those little details that, even though they don't change much, still show some care and attention put into the game.

Veilguard is bad for other reasons (i hated origins though i really tried to like it); mainly they chucked the main writer, the dialogue in this dialogue-centered game is godawful, the Qunari now look baby-smooth and more human, the tone is completely inconsistent (it feels like there are no consequences bc everyone jokes about everything, which happened in inquisition and da2 too, but there were some serious moments to let it be known there was real danger) the characters are all just nice, there's no variety and every convo feels like everyone's being really really careful about what they say.

You can never be truly mean to anyone, and when you pick "mean" dialogue options they literally remove the mean part of it to tone down how mean you're really being.

The main antagonist being hyped up since it was originally named "Dreadwolf" (for a reason!!) is now just a puppet for other antagonists, which completely destroys the entire Inquisition storyline from start to finish.

And personally the worst part for me is no save states. So all the actions the moulded your worlds in the other games simply do not exist. I loved how in Inquisition all the choices i made in the previous games determined things that happened in Inquisition. It's really nice, and shows love (especially for an EA game...) but yeah.

Story and dialogue are the biggest reasons why people hate Veilguard. People who just want it to be like origins (or even just da2) don't get it either.

Genuinely even tho I only played it for a day, it has been the funnest pack I played in a while. I love the tarot finding quest and the lore.
