#i miss the pure lyrical americana-struck-through-with-ghouls of the early seasons #i love the complexity and grandeur that came #but it came at the sacrifice of this elegaic kind of visual and narrative poetry #i miss that

#could i leave queue #these tags are art #'elegaic kind of visual and narrative poetry'#this cinematography added such a heightened aspect to the show #a kind of irrevocable longing in those wide expanses of wilderness #it made sense that monsters and ghosts could roam the trees and forgotten caverns and ramshackle homes unseen #and yes the grandeur and scope of what followed has been interesting and arresting at times #(and at other times a bit of a mess)#but nothing ever caught the aesthetic heart again #hearing the 'americana' track of the score always gets me because it conjures this imagery #boys with names like guns #supernatural
