Once upon a time, in deep winter, a queen was admiring the falling snow, when she saw a rose blooming in defiance of the cold. Reaching for it she pricked her finger and three drops of blood fell. And because the red seemed so alive against the white she thought, “If only I had a child as white as snow, lips as red as blood, hair as black as a raven’s wings, and all with the strength of that rose.” Soon after a daughter was born to the queen and was named Snow White.

my darlings, I want you to know that if you've sent me a message since September 14th and I haven't responded to it, I probably received it but haven't had an opportunity to properly answer in-depth, and I am genuinely not trying to ignore anyone, everything's just been such a mess and I'm suddenly quite ill (I think...I'm sicker than I let myself realize because I've been pushing through all the life stuff that's happened so stubbornly that I didn't allow myself to fully feel the exhaustion and weight of it until today?), I'm looking through my inbox and I have like 50 things piled up that I haven't answered, so it's nothing to do with a single one of you, it's me being a failure at staying on top of conversations in a timely manner as usual. I always appreciate the thoughts/insight on any topic, and the sweet wishes, you're such wonderful friends to me and I love you a lot.
These mean a great deal to me, and I just want to save them. There's a special significance to having anything Dean-related that I express acknowledged (and accepted) like this, because he's such an important/immutable touchstone for me, and I wish I had something particularly eloquent to say right now but it's been a rough day and I'm running high on emotions and low on words.
