i did it but i didnt like it
i've never done tunisian crochet but i saw a friend doing it and i also have a couple handed down hooks in my collection. i guess i never figured out what to try to make with it, since i have more than enough scarves already, and the knitters handy book of top down sweaters for all my knitting needs. i think the fabric looks lovely though, and that is a beautiful shade of green.
New scarf, warp preparation.
Untangled the long tails and crochet-chained them up for safety.
Next step: rolling it all up on the back beam.
Rolling the warp. Starting, up close in noon sun. Work in progress.
Around midpoint :)
While loading the last shuttle, I made an accidental yarncake flower :)
Last stage, nearly done. Too yellow, light is bad.
Finishing :)
Done :)
Some closeups :)
wow!
And this will be MY scarf :)
Warping the loom :)
Shuttles loaded :)
This merino is so soft that even doubling the warp still doesn't make it show as much as similar size of cotton/acrylic would. I have to tap the weft very carefully to preserve warp visibility.
Undid single weft weaving, folded it double and tried again. Looks better now.
Over the midpoint.
Nearly there :)
Using the smallest shuttles now - one serves as a pickup stick, since the heddles aren't moving at this stage :)
End result
On the back of my sofa.
Both folds
Up close
The warp colours are visible, just subtly.
wow, beautiful! also you are fast!

A quick acrylic scarf for a friend's daughter ;)
Annnd added one for her mom :) Same yarn, same ball, but the colour composition came out a little differently.
you are so fast!

Picking warp colours.
Warp hanging on my lamp arm :)
Weft on the shuttles.
Work in progress.
Nearly halfway through :)
Done :)
@reveling-in-mayhem this is the end result.
Fuller view.

@chained-to-the-mirror do you two follow each other?
Scarves I've weaved over the last few days (some I've already posted), as a recap of what I've been doing instead of writing...
Ah, forgot this one:
wow, gorgeous!
Nanana, I'm starting another pink scarf :)
Some time later...
pretty!
For @love-in-mind-palace ❤️a scene from her gorgeous fic “ The Craving in Between”. Darling, thank you so much for having picked up my silly prompt and having turned it into a truly great work!
You know what I am right now? Happy. I want to scream but also speechless. I am so happy. This is how I visualized this scene. One of my favourite scenes I have written so far probably. You are so talented darling, so so talented. And thank you for gifting me with a part of that talent. This might be one of the best gifts I ever got. A early birthday gift? Hell yes. I am so happy and honoured and proud to be your friend. Thank you so much.
P.s. Sherlock’s face in the last panel. Perfection.
I love you ok. I love you a lot 💖💖
