The HIGH SPEED 2 railway project

Shortly after S3 aired there was some talk about this project but then it died down and I forgot about it. Recently talking to @gosherlocked I remembered the whole thing and did some research the last days.
According to Wikipedia - 'phase 1 of this project would result in the demolition of 250 houses around Euston station’ and therefore it will affect North Gower Street too.
It’s said that the construction is going to start 2017 with the first phase: Euston Station - Birmingham
Of course many people are not happy about this project.
As I’m not British I consulted Google Earth about closer details regarding the geographical location of North Gower Street, Euston Station, Euston Square and Speedy’s. And I took some photos. (The great grey square is Euston Station)
Now I wonder if anyone knows how much ‘our Baker Street’ is affected by HS2. For this project will last for years. Will filming future series be possible at all under these circumstances? Or …. the worst case … will Speedy’s and 187 North Gower Street be demolished too as a result of the constructions?

@ebaeschnbliah: I had never heard about this project and I truly hope that it will not affect the neighbourhood. If, however, the houses will be demolished we might be in for a terribly tearful farewell from 221B. 😭
Current plans for demolishment seem to vary quite a bit these days. However, there are certainly rumours we might have to say goodbye to our 221B. But I want to highlight that no one knows exactly when or how the area will be affected as of this time.
Thanks for the update @johnlockedness I have almost forgotten about those plans again. It seems only time will show how this project will turn out.
yikes! I dimly recall this idea going around before, but had forgotten. It pits my love of bbc sherlock against my value of the importance of good public transportation.

It’s FRIENDSHIP DAY today so to celebrate this day a little, have some Sherlock and John. It’s me and my best friend @itsloki and I’m so glad she started cosplaying those two idiots with me because John really suits her and it’s great fun to cosplay them together. I’m sooo much looking forward to her visiting me here in London for SHERLOCKED in September this year.
