So I was looking at an unfinished Afghanistan!John (top one), finished it and thought “that could be a nice photo taken of John when he’s back in Afghanistan in Mazarin221b’s Waiting There For you”

Then “Oh imagine Sherlock finding that picture…” then “oh… Sherlock could totally have some kind of messy diary in Afghanistan… with that picture inside (stolen from someone obviously) and… a failed attempt at picture from himself and just about every kind of stuff.”

And voila. My dear Maz, I don’t even know. I hope you like it :D

Except for the map, and a few rough paper textures, it’s painted on Photoshop :D

Ahhhhh, I don’t remember the name of any for sure, except I DID read one a long time ago, from Sherlock’s POV and he ends up on a military mission or something while he’s on Hiatus, and he ends up working for some high up guy named T.C., and anyway the reveal is that T.C. is actually John and they meet again that way. That’s the only one I know of, but it was before I was bookmarking and flagging fics, so I for the life of me cannot remember its name. I think it was on FFNet, which is why I can’t find it.

Anyway, if anyone has any they’d like to suggest, please do. Is the Mad Dog series with John in Afghanistan before Sherlock returns? I have no idea LOL.

aaahhh yes!! aside from the CLASSIC fic, two two one bravo baker (hold onto your hats, it's rated E for good reason) where they first meet in afghanistan while john is still deployed, there is one where john goes back after TRF, and i will try to find it.
